    I used EUREKA brand vacums for twenty years, as a janitor for Penn State UN. The models were light, easy to carry, easy to maintain. Never use a paper bag until it's completely filled. Use only until the bags are half-full, then, discard. You will get almost 100% of the vacumn's suction.

    I bought my Eureka Whirlwind Litespeed 5740 vacuum cleaner in December 2004. For the first few months it worked like a dream. After 3 months I had problems with belts breaking easily. I followed all the check lists in the manual, ensured that nothing was causing the roller to stop turning, trapping the belt, blocking the pipes etc So I telephone customer services to see if they could suggest anything. They told me that the brush roller needs replacing and this is not covered by any guarantee ...

    We thought the Eureka Whirlwind Litespeed 5740 was a great vacuum at the beginning. After 2 years the plastic is cracking inside, and it breaks belts with every use. We have had a lot of problems with dog hair clogging the hose. All debris goes through the central vacuum hose. We are extremely disappointed with this model.
