    it's a good vacuum cleaner, powerful, robust to a certain extent although after a year or so the vacuum motor housing started to break down, but it's the filters that let it down, the paper filters have to be replaced after every couple of times that you empty the thing, so i got a pleated cartridge filter which is the best thing to do but i found that a replacement was hard to find but overall good workshop vac.

    The Earlex WD1000 is an excellent vacuum cleaner and great value for money. Good range of accessories and spare parts available from Earlex.

    My Earlex is an excellent vacuum cleaner, better than all the so called brand names.

    I have now had two Wickes-branded Earlex vacuums - same model, different badging. £34.99 in both case, and I spent another £7 on permanent filter to replace standard paper filters. Very good machines. As simple as they get. Very tough. Quite stable and a good capacilty. Killed the first after two years of very heavy use inicluding two house renovations. Eventually died after two days of almost constant use, cleaning out a very hot and filthy loft of a Victorian house - dust, wood chi ...
