Good Points: Built like a brick ... well you know what I mean
Bad Points: Not the prettiest of phones
General comments: I have owned the Nokia 5510 mobile phone for just over two years, and I have only had one problem with the microphone when I first brought the phone. Ever since, it has worked and kept on working.
I have dropped it so many times now, but it just keeps going. I have even had a game of touch rugby with it.
The rubber shell and the shape of the phone are perhaps not the most attractive features, but the sturdiness of the phone certainly makes up for it.
It doesn't have a camera, bluetooth or an MP3 player, but these are not necessary features when all you need is a phone.

The Nokia 5100 is a very sturdy phone, with a half life of about 800 years. However, my phone won't do silent... and it likes to randomly change ringtones which is always entertaining... also, texting is a huge chore as buttons stick. I definitely want new phone!!!- Read j0joba's review (53 words)

Very nice. An excellent phone overall. It doesn't smash when dropped. I especially like the thermometer feature. I have left it on for about 3 days on standby. The battery is excellent. The shell which protects the phone is also very strong and you can throw your phone around.- Read Maxim321's review (58 words)

The Nokia 5100 phone is definitely for a person who drops thier phone a lot. The torch on top of the phone is good if you are in a dark spot. The built-in-radio is also good if you are walking the dog. The more you use the phone, the quicker the battery goes flat.- Read gezza02's review (92 words)

The Nokia 5100 is a good phone, does what you want, simply a bit dated without a camera. Will always have a fond regard for its simplicity of use and general dependability.
My daughter is getting it and I am sure she will use it for a long time to come.- Read nigeladams's review (102 words)

This is a massive and resistant phone.
I've dropped it sometimes, but nothing was damaged. The best option is the torch! It's amazing, I didn't expect too much about the torch when I bought it, but it's awesome.
Another cool thing that it is easy to use, the whole menu-structure is a absolutely understandable. There are some other useful things, such as the speakerphone, IRDA, the long life battery. I think the screen with its 4096 colour is good. I recommend this phone to everyone who wants a ...- Read Seth from GIE's review (124 words)

The casing of the Nokia 5100 is fab as I've dropped the phone a few times and there isn't a scratch on it. I love the torch facility too as it comes in handy when away camping. It's loaded full of extras and is easy to use. The on/off switch lets it down though. It's very small and fidgety. I had to send my phone back after 6 months as I couldn't get the phone on. The replacement seems fine though so maybe the problem's been ironed out.- Read penny2804's review (101 words)

The Nokia 5100 is doin' well in my book, with the exception of the dodgy buttons and lack of camera it scores very highly, same old Nokia interface trusted tested and approved by us lot. The torch is well handy when you can't find your keys or the lock or when you're walkin' the dog in pitch black, it sounds good, good radio, fairly long battery life, all in all very good. He he I'm just off to get my Nokia 6600 now let's see how that gets on. Overall I have had loads of phones over the years th ...- Read peebzuk's review (178 words)

Ive had this Nokia 5100 mobile phone for just over a year now, its great, you can take it down the pub and throw it at people, and drop it in drinks and when you wake up in the morning wondering what you have done your phone is still right as rain. The buttons are quite squashy so you get little response as the phone gets older. In the past 1 to 2 months it has got more annoying to txt, but it is a nice phone to have.- Read aadairj's review (110 words)

The Nokia 5100 is a really easy to use cell phone, it's handy and you can pretty much take it where ever you want. But the bad thing I didn't like was you can't download ring tones. Maybe it was because it was new or they just don't have it.- Read kity23's review (70 words)

The Nokia 5100 is a great mobile phone badly let down by the shoddy design of the on/off button. Its likely that at some point you'll turn the phone off & be unable to turn it back on. The button is too small & impossible to use.
In all other aspects the 5100 really is a great phone, easy to use, tough to damage & has stacks of great features but if you can't turn it on it's pretty useless.- Read ziconess's review (108 words and 2 comments)

The Nokia 5100 is an easy phone to use once you have the hang of it, good design and the grip on the phone is excellent. extra features such as light and calorie counter are good. Only critism is the the phone can be very difficult to turn on, took me 2days at one point to get it back on!!!- Read ali8284's review (89 words)

I've had this Nokia 5100 mobile phone for just over a year - I tend not to be too careful with phones - they usually die after about 9 months - this one is ace! I have dropped it in a river, off a balcony and frequently bash it, but it seems to be indestructable. The outer screen cover now has a crack (from a rock) and I think this is a common weak spot on this phone, but it still works fine. You do need to be he-man to switch it on and off (the button is a touch hard to press) but otherwise its ...- Read wellsyis's review (180 words)

Ive had the Nokia 5100 mobile phone for about a year now. Its a pain to use when texting or anything else. Its not worth having at all. The Attachable camera you can get for it is competely useless unless you like looking at pixulated blobs. Although saying all this the flashlight you get on it has helped me find my keys many a dark drunken night. So to sum it all up you are better off buying a flashlight.- Read thebaronvontitto's review (83 words)

I have had the Nokia 5100 Mobile phone for nearly two months now and it's perfect for me. Despite everyone saying it looks weird and the buttons are hard to press, the features really make up for it. It just has everything you need and more. I had a Nokia 3510 before which was alright but nothing compared to this. I love having a radio and it doesn't use up the batteries as quickly as I feared. The torch is great, it's come in handy more times than I would have thought. The games are good and th ...- Read camera's review (301 words)

This phone is superb.
I previously had a Nokia 6510, prior to that a Nokia 3330 and prior to that a Nokia 3310. This is by far the best phone.
I was looking at the 5100 and the 7250, and chose the 5100 over the 7250, because I did not want the camera facility on my phone. Plus the 5100 is so modern looking, certainly different in appearance to most other Nokia phones.
Colour screen - excellent.
Polyphonic rings - excellent.
Torch facilty - not a gimmick, really useful.
As for those who k ...- Read Cuzzo's review (155 words)
