Good Points: It certainly shifts the dirt, I was asked to repair 2 Dysons, (Cheap flex cracked) and tested them. Neither would pick up bits of grit from between 2 rugs, so tried my Bosch and you guessed it, clean as a whistle!

Bad Points: Heavy, especially when it 'sucks' itself to the carpet

General comments: I paid £99 several years ago from Tradex for this Bosch Cyclone Jet BUC11700UC and it still works 'as new'. Unfortunately i have to replace it with a lightweight one due to a back injury, (can't get the Bosch up & down the stairs)

I agree with a previous review. We bought on the reputation that Bosch has, but have been very disappointed. Like all vacuum cleaners it clogs up and needs to be cleared out, however it seems to happen more on this cleaner. When taking it apart it seems very fiddly and complicated, and if you need to take it apart to properly clear it out there are millions of screws. (well at least 12 holding the beater plate in place!). The final nail in the coffin was when the beater stopped working. ...

The Bosch Cyclone Jet BUC11700UC vacuum cleaner has great suction. So much in fact, that it requires some effort to push it around. Once you get used to it, you can give your carpets a really good clean by slowly covering each stripe just once. Unfortunately, the brush motor has plastic teeth on the driving end. When a nail or paper clip jams the brush, this causes these teeth to burn away, meaning another £50 brush motor must be purchased. If just the belt was ruined, I could tolerate ...

I have had many satisfactory Bosch products (fridges, freezers, washing machines, tumble dryers etc.) and bought on the basis of the Bosch name for well engineered products. This product lets the side down.

I was attracted to the Bosch Cyclone Jet by positive reviews, design and price, I happy threw out my Dyson DC01 and replaced it with the Bosch. Very impressed initially, but became aware of major loss of suction despite emptying cannister when only 1/4 full. Then I removed the round cartridge filter... This filter, which according to the manual should only require cleaning 'under certain circumstances e.g. when vacuuming fine particles', was completely chocked out with dust and was a filthy ...

The Bosch Cyclone Jet BUC11700UC is definitely the best vacuum cleaner we have ever owned, but it needs to be treated with respect and intelligence. If you are the kind of person who does not believe in looking after equipment, don't buy one. Our machine is now almost three years old and is still doing a great job. It has failed once when my wife decided to pick up some damp wall paper she had stripped (even though we do have a big 'wet and dry' job for doing just that). The said paper, of c ...

The Bosch Cyclone Jet BUC11700VC vacuum cleaner is great to start with, but within weeks the brush motor broke. We exchanged the whole machine, and after another 12 months (just out of warranty) the same fault occurred again. I won't buy again!!

After less than a year of use, the beater brush on my Bosch Cyclone Jet Vacuum cleaner jammed, in spite of cleaning regularly. The plastic melted and fused together. Parts are difficult to disassemble, and almost impossible to find, and service centers are limited.

Another teutonic, over designed, mediocre appliance trading on an apparent reputation for quality. Similar experiences with Bosch dishwasher and washing machine. Would never buy another Bosch appliance again - 3 separate (expensive) appliances all with reliability problems.

I bought the Bosch Cyclone Jet BUC11700UC after reading all the reviews on this web page and also after being fed up of everyone having a Dyson, which i feel are over priced and over hyped... I loved the Bosch until it over heated and blew up 2 weeks after buying it. I would have bought another except that they have been discontinued and yes they are exactly the same as one done by Vax,(purple and silver) which has also been discontinued according to Comet.

Bought the Bosch Cyclone Jet BUC11700UC as a replacement for my VAX AVC2, which correct me if i'm wrong, is almost the same but re-badged BOSCH? Did they buy VAX? I bought the AVC2 a couple of years ago to replace the over-hyped Dyson we bought (never again! Totally agree with all the other reviews about Dyson and their products!). The only reason I am having to replace it so soon is because I have abused it by using it for vacuuming a lot of building work! The suction on these things is amazing ...

Bought the Bosch Cyclone Jet BUC11700UC two days ago and now have an aching right arm due to the suction on deep pile "Wilton" carpets. Ordinary carpets are OK to push on and turning on the brushes certainly helps. Believe me I am no wimp as I am a 34 year old lumberjack and I would not recommend it for older people or people with bad backs, my wife uses two hands to push it. As for hairs we have a new sheepskin rug which constantly sheds hairs onto the "wilton" and it just will not pick these ...

We bought the Bosch Cyclone Jet BUC11700UC after our Dyson died - seems quite common nowadays. Not happy with forking out £200 again for another Dyson with what appears to be approximately a two year lifespan, I decided to see what else is available. Just happened upon the Bosch by luck - but having used it now, I'm extremely glad I did. Bought a cylinder panasonic to do our stairs because the Dyson was a pain for staricases. When the Dsyon died we used the cylinder all over the house ...

We bought the Bosch Cyclone Jet BUC11700UC after a catalogue of disasters with our old Dyson, here's the story: Carolyn asked me to fix the Dyson on Boxing Day. The prospect of changing yet another broken belt on our old Dyson was just too much to bear. It wasn't a happy relationship with the old DC01 but since we had paid an arm and a leg for it a few years ago,(the same price as a semi in the 1930's according to Grandad), we soldiered on with it. I became quite adept at stripping it down t ...

I'm impressed with the Bosch Cyclone Jet BUC11700UC. This machine is just about everything the Dyson should have been but wasn't. I previously owned a Dyson which fell to pieces and I vowed never to own another. I borrowed my mothers cleaner (Dyson DC04?) to clean the dining room. The sparkly new Bosch arrived the next day, and for interest, I went over the same room (about 14' square) again. When I had finished, I had to empty the dust bucket! Other reviewers have said that it is a heav ...

Owning a small hotel with two labradors and dark carpets the Bosch Cyclone Jet vacuum is a blessing. Picks up all dirt and pet hairs on first sweep. It can be heavy in use but if used slowly the machine will perform.

Bosch Cyclone Jet BUC11700UC - As far as I am concerned, this is 'the one'. Some people have said that it seems heavy to use but after a few minutes, I realised that this is only because of the tremendous suction power it is putting into your carpet. Because of this, you need to adopt a slightly different technique - don't try running it back and forth 'energetically', you dont need to! Just go along in straight lines slowly and let the machine do its job. You will be as amazed as I was at the a ...

I had (still have in fact) a faulty Dyson DC04 and felt like I'd rather spend money on something new than trying to fix something that's broken. So for £99 (down from £199) I got the Bosch Cyclone. This vacuum cleaner is plainly amazing! I have not seen anything that good. Maybe it's the german engineering (probably), in any case it works perfectly well and goes beyond my expectations and anyone's normal expectations for a hoover. The only gripe I'd have is the weight. When you ...

Bosch Cyclone Jet is a very cool looking Vacuum! Look closely at the picture, great curves, colour and a very innovative way of getting the dirt from the floor to the container. As for cleaning, it is amazing. I put it to a 'vacuum challenge', the Dyson vs. the Bosch. I hovered two similar areas (about 2sqr Metres each) of dirty carpet; one with the Dyson, one with the Bosch. I then emptied and cleaned both vacuums, swapped them over and re-hovered the areas (so that each vacuum was cleanin ...
