Good Points: Does exactly what it says it will do.
Bad Points: None.
General comments: I wouldn't normally do a review of this sort, but having had a few problems with the SP-2820 I received, I thought it good to recount what happened.
The unit I received worked perfectly EXCEPT for playback of DVD+R/RW disks (either as regular video DVD or as data DVD). After initially thinking that this was due to my encoding of the video I was trying to play, I got some very quick, detailed and appropriate information from the manufaturer on A/V settings which was very good.
Unfortunately, this didn't solve the problem and another mail to the maker came back (within 24 hours) with detailed, simple instructions to increase the power of the laser to allow corrcet reading of DVD+R/RWs.
The required adjustment needed me to open up the unit, unscrew the drive unit and then adjust a resistor underneath. All accomplished in about 10 minutes and very clear instructions.
The result: it works without fault. Absolutely perfect. I 'tested' it using a (very cheap no-name) DVD+RW with ~700MB of 4-5MB video files on it, encoded with various codecs and A/V settings. It worked. On all of them. Perfectly.
So in my opinion. Well, I wouldn't typically rave about a product that requires me to take it apart to make it work, but this is a rare exception for the following reasons:
1. The quality, speed and helpfulness of the support I have had from the company was exceptional.
2. The 'fix' was a 10 minute job that, with any other company, would have required a return to base so that they could do it. It was a joy to deal with a company that doesn't treat its customers as idiots and credits them with a little ability/intelligence. Very refreshing.
I can safely say that I will be turning to this company for further players in future because the prduct is excellent and, raraest of all, I know they are a company I can trust to sort any problems out in the best way possible.
Incidentally, the doc describing the 'fix' for the laser can be obtained from my blog at:

although obviously 'I take no responsibility etc etc etc', contact the manufacturer first. Blah, blah.

I have recently upgraded my DVD player to an AndrewBoss SP-2720 DivX DVD player. I was on the market since before xmas and took my time until surfing eBay....which is when I came across it. The list of features is endless but the main reasons for me buying this unit was the multi-region capability, interior technology (which is by Sony no less!) and price. To top this off, the exterior aesthetics are superb with the best touch being the mirrored - and thus hidden until turned on - counter / d ...- Read Colesy's review (163 words)

I've bought a new AndrewBoss SP-2720 DivX DVD player one month ago, I 've bought it mainly because of the impressive list of features when I received it I was simply amazed to find that it all was true.
I have seen many of the DivX player but this one just blown my mind,
It can play any of Divx, Xvid files I have in my collection, Player has zoom in Divx, Xvid, Progressive Scan, I have connected it to my LCD projector and it has an excellent picture quality.
I was surprised to find that it ...- Read hampshire's review (187 words)
