“Do not use AXA they will never accept a claim”

I have been with AXA for nearly 8 years now. I feel unable to switch because a new insurer would not cover anything they might deem "pre-existing". This is why it is important NOT to switch to AXA, no matter how favourable the premium. Be under no illusion: AXA will always find some procedural reason as to why you are not covered, no matter how small the claim or how much you pay in premium per month. “Reimbursement completely messed up!!!”

I have been waiting to be reimbursed for a doctors visit. I did everything as agreed on - went to the doctor, paid for the treatment, handed in the invoice to be reimbursed. AXA "reimbursed" the doctor. No problem that can happen, I guess. “Stay clear especially if you are an expat - worthless AXA!”

We have been on this medical aid for more than 17 years - but in the last 2 years it has completely changed and the once good service but only a vague memory. They will find any opportunity not to pay, make you fill in form after form before approving treatment just to refuse the refund and make you go through all off it again to get approval. “Dangerous choice - as close to gambling on health as...”

Think of your family and ask if you want to take a chance on their health when considering AXA. When policies are placed side by side it's easy to compare the benefits. When policy documents are read it's easy to understand most inclusions and exclusions. HOWEVER, what is not explained to policy holder is the pre-approval process which enables AXA to arbitrarily determine what to pay or not pay in advance therefore controlling/maximising policy value and minimising policy risk. I cannot urge you enough to stay away from these awful people. Blunder after blunder, the staff seem completely clueless as to their own internal processes, feeding customers conflicting and incorrect instructions designed to make you give up on claims.
