Terrible customer service - the call handler, who has no medical training, decided that my GP's referral wasn't necessary.

Dealing with AXA PPP health insurance is one of the most unpleasant things I ever need to do. I used to get knots in my stomach every time I had to call - now I ask my husband to deal with them. Recently he did so from next to my hospital bed in Canada, where I'd had a serious accident while on holiday. I needed to see a consultant after an ultrasound revealed I needed surgery. AXA refused to pay for it on the grounds that the ultrasound doctor wasn't actually looking for the cyst at the time.

I made a claim hoping to receive a cashback fot the dental treatment. I attached my paid receipts. Their reply was that I am not entitled to get anything because there were no receipts. I made a complaint and am waiting for the reply now.

I did my back in, I went to a private health centre and they did my physio, I had to pay for the form to be filled out by the doctor, then because there was not enough information on the form they requested further information from my doctor, which if it cost over £20.00 I would have to pay the rest, 1 month later the Private hospital I went to charged my card because AXA had not paid out!, I am still waiting for the reimbursement!!. I am disgusted with how AXA are still on going with my ...

Tried to organise an ultrasound scan for my wife. We have full cover and we got a private doctor to give the referral letter. However we were told that AXA needed a consultants name. Errmm uh? Ok so I gave the name of the referring doctor, no luck so then I gave the name of the centre we were referred to. Still no luck. I got quite angry at this point so I just gave up!!!

AXA then gave me some Consultants names but when I called these consultants the receptionists told me they had never h ...

AXA sent us a letter confirming it was OK to proceed with treatment, my partner then booked an appointment with an NHS consultant for a knee examination and subsequent referral for an MRI - all to be covered by our policy.
We then chased up confirmation of cover only to be advised that the letter related to something else, and that they would not cover treatment as it was classed as pre-existing,(she had an arthroscopy 4 years ago). We stated that the symptoms were very different but they advis ...

I tried to purchase Medical Insurance here in Cyprus from Universal Life - offering an AXA PPP policy. I requested details by E-Mail from their website, and they phoned back and arranged an appointment with an agent. At the appointed time I curtailed what I was doing, travelled the 10 miles or so to the office, arriving at 1550 for a 1600 appointment. By 1615 hours the office was still closed (despite a sign saying declaring opening time to be 1600, so I left. Some 30 minutes later I receive ...

I took out a very comprehensive cover for my 19 year old daughter and myself (51) with a premium of £123.10 per month for the two of us. My daughter suffered one bout of tonsillitis as most children do in their lifetime, in February 2004, which cleared up totally after a course of antibiotics, approximately 3 months before I took out the policy in June 2004. She then contracted a nasty virus in August 2006 whilst travelling in Australia on her gap year, and she has had several recurring b ...

My membership with AXA PPP health insurance is paid for by my company as part of my renumeration package, hence I have given value for money a score of 10. Given the level of service and value of treatment received so far, I would recommend AXA PPP to anyone.

I submitted a claim to AXA PPP Health insurance for Osteopath bills. I received no cheque. I made contact and I was told to supply receipts. This I did, but I still received no cheque. I made contact again, and I was told the receipts were no good, and that I have to supply invoices. Promises of "we'll call you back" were never kept. I have spent hours trying to get them to pay out, and I am still waiting.

I have been a member with AXA PPP Health Insurance for something like 15 years, and until this year I found them to be a good Company to deal with. This year, after complaining about the increase in premium, they suggested it would be more economical to split my family (husband, wife, 3 kids) policy into two, and I fell for it. After making a claim for grommets for a child that would have been previously been covered, they rejected this.
