I have only read Allanna: the first adventure, i first read it 6 yaers ago, now I'm rereading it, it's just I remember it (maybe better). Allanna is a very strong character, very stobborn (one of my favourite qualities), has a very fiery temper, and is altogther the kind of person who would never manage to forget their final goal. Here's a basic summary ****Spoilers Ahead****Allanna of trebond wants to be a knight, though she is suopposed to become a lady, she switches places with her twin brother Thom (pronounced Tom) who wants to become a Mage the first book is about Allanna's aka Allen's time as a page were she learns to use her power as a healer after one of her friends die, when another of her friends gets sick (this friend happens to be Prince Jonathon the heir to the throne) after every healer in the city is to tired to heal, except Allanna who is scared of her magic, but she uses it anyway and saves the prince's life. Later they all go to the desert were there is an ancient ruin, ruled by the nameless ones who feed on human soles, of course Allanna & Jonathon decide to sneak out from were they are staying to go and see the city, & of course they meet the nameless ones they deafeat the nameless ones with the helof the gods. Then it ended!

Overall I enjoyed this series. Tamora Pierce knows what she's doing when she's writing fantasy. The Gift adds a different perspective to the book and she writes the battle scenes wonderfully.

I like these books because they were fast paced, with lots of magic.

These books are great and i just wish that someone that actually read the book would make a great movie about all of them. I know that i would definitely watch it. If you love this book you should definitely write a review to tell the people looking to read it how good it was.

Alanna and her twin brother Thom both have the gift. Thom, being a boy, has the choice to either go to school to study his gift or go become a knight. The only choice Alanna has is to go to a girls school and learn how to become a "proper lady." But Alanna dreams of becoming a knight. The twins use their looks to their advantage, and Alanna gets to go to Corus and learn how to become a knight. Their father, being tied up in his own work, never realizes what Alanna has done. Alanna knows that gir ...

Basically, this girl and her twin switch places- he to mageschool, she off to train as a page. The rest of the series is about her struggles first to keep up with the rest, and then to keep her secret as her body- and her talent for healing- developed. Also mixed in is her romances with the theif, George, and the Prince, Jonathan. The dead walk, magic corrupts, and the gods walk among men. I hope you have as much fun reading these books as I did.
