great little gun. awsome for plinking, rats, mice, chipmunks and starling but only with pellets. but if you are looking for a gun for squirell, this just is not enough. Pumping is easy, any six year old can do it. and it is pretty accurate out to 35 yards. And for the money it is great its only about 25 bucks (read more)

great gun for plinking, fun and great for shooting starling, chipmunks, rats and mice. pumping is easy, i am young and an 8 year old (not me) could pump it easily. the iron scope is dead accurate out to 25 yards, but it is not recommended that you shoot that far at anything. it is also very light, great for carrying around the woods all day (read more)

My dad bought the Pumpmaster for me a few weeks ago. I am a beginner shooter and once the scope was off I could shoot through the bottom of a soda can from 50 feet. Very accurate. During the unboxing I wondered why the stock and pump handle were not brown, but that was fine with me. The scope takes a while to zero in so that's why my dad took it off. One con is that it is hard to pump (I have to have my dad do it). I bought only pellets because they are more accurate. Crosman .177... (read more)

Hello, I'm 14 years old. I would honestly describe this product as a very great value. My Uncle bought this gun up in North Dakota when he lived there, and gave it to my grandfather when they moved down to Colorado and were visiting us here in Texas. I've had the gun ever since I was about 10 years old, and my Uncle lived up there for a while. I'd say the gun is easily 20 + years. It's accuracy is still almost spot on, and the range I think is great compared to a few other BB guns I've shot.... (read more)

This rifle is sold in a box for a reason. It feels VERY light and flimsy. The stock is hollow plastic, the forearm is plastic, the barrel is a smoothbore piece of pipe, and the metal for the receiver is stamped steel.
With all that said, this rifle IS INDEED worth the money. It is FAR superior to any daisy air rifles in this price range, capable of producing twice the power. This is NOT a match target rifle. The barrel is not rifled. It IS however a great plinker, it's design is...

Fun gun! Bought this for my son for Christmas and we used it for a science (physics) experiment. Crosman recommends 3-10 pumps. We wanted to find out what was the most accurate. We set up a 17 yard indoor range, (with scope - sighted at 10 yards indoors). Shot 5 shots at targets at each pump range (3 thru 10). We found that it was most accurate at 5 pumps for both BBs and Pellets. Pellets were also precise but hit off bullseye (high about 2 inches). Going to try pellets at 40 yards... (read more)

it was a very good gun, until yesterday when i got it out. the piston in the pump was blown and i cant use it any more. it was all my fault because i left it pumped for the fall. didnt kill anything with it because i never tried but im sure it would drop a rat from 20 feet or so. very good for plinking small objects. it is kinda a cheap made gun but very good for the price. The Crosmen Pumpmaster 760 is probably one of the best guns I have. I am a young shotter, not much of a hunter though i do hunt for squirlls every now and again. The accuracy is perfect. I enjoy using the normal sights, but i bought a Crosmen Scope when im just gaming for squrills. The handling is very good. I have many airsoft and air rifles and this one is definatly the best. By far did i get the best value. I went to my local WAL-MART and got it for 20$. So i would would most definatly... (read more)

Im sorry to dissapoint you but... this rifle is excellent! You haven't bought it yet? What are you waiting for? The Crosman 760 exceeded all my expectations by far, and certainly im hard to convince when talking about air rifles. The price of it here in Mexico is not cheap, but anyways the rifle's worth it. I wouldn't think that a smooth bore would fire that accurate. The barrel is very well made and is the best part of the rifle, as it should be on all rifles. If you were thinking of buying... My friend had one of these back when I was a teen, I had the more powerful 2100 classic, the 357-6 and the 1377 pistol. It was easier to pump than my 2100, although the size is a bit small and can feel awkward if you are bigger.
We used to hunt in the woods and I never had an issue with taking down game with 1 shot. (bird, squirrels, rabbit) before hunting I'd recommend you really work on your aim and shooting skills to be humane.
Tips: keep it lubricated, and don't exceed 10 pumps, the...

Just a note: the current version of the 760 has a smooth bore. It *has* been offered a few times over the years with a rifled bore, but if you've bought one made in the past several years, you've got a smooth bore. Not knocking it, btw. I own one and it's a lot of fun to shoot.

This was my second gun, my first being the Red Ryder (:D), me and my friends would have hours playing with this and the red ryder, however, since this was better, my friends always wanted to use this. We had taken out a few animals, but mostly just shot cans, glass, bottles filled with water, etc. It has potential to disable an animal, however, it would not be a "humane" death, since you would still have to finish the poor guy off. Decent gun. I got a newer one. Worth the price and accurate. It isn't as powerful as the Powerline 880, but a medium-velocity gun nevertheless. Although plastic on a gun is junk, this one is kinda rigid. Great choice for a beginner or an intermediate gun lover looking for a low price. I did like the TruGlo frontsight(easier to see when it's kinda dark) but I don't care for the BB feed. And the loading system is more frustrating than on most Daisies. Otherwise a good gun. I bought a Crosman 760 Pumpmaster at Walmart about a month ago to hunt house sparrows. Before I bought it, I read reviews on this site, and most said that the Pumpmaster would work on a sparrow. I started out with bbs. Several times I shot the birds from about 23 ft. It didn't work. It merely knocked them off the post, or made a big poof of feathers. the one time that I did disable one was the time I shot from under it. So, I bought some lead-free pellets(Gamo Pba Raptors) and tried... (read more)

For what it is - a very inexpensive starter rifle - the Crosman 760 PumpMaster is just about PERFECT.
Bought one recently for my son and daughter, 6 and 11, at Wal Mart. Same gun I had as a kid, and only $29!
Did not ruin the rifled barrel with BBs, we only shoot pellets, and just for target practice and fun.
Right out of the box I was hitting under 1" groups with the open sights at 10 yards.

I like the Crosman 760 for the ease of use and the capability of mounting a scope, which comes in handy for shooting those rascally rabbitts eating my garden veggies. If you use the open sites, I agree with most, it is very uncinsistant. A rifeled barrel would really help the accuracy? Your best bet is the scope, just have to be quick! I like the fact that you can pump this thing numerous times to get a faster more accurate shot. also very easy to clean and maintain! (read more)

I had three friends that owned the Crosman Pumpmaster 760. Though I had good times goofing off with this little plinker, there were a couple of reasons why I never had any interest in owning this gun myself. First off has got to be the looks. This gun is not very attractive. It's small, dainty and definitely geared more towards juveniles. Second, I'd have to say the power (or lack there of) is an issue.
