Good Points: Excellent sound staging, very faithful to all music types.
Bad Points: Bass was a bit overpowering, so stood them on 50mm thick concrete slabs (circular) which tamed them nicely!
General comments: These Mordaunt Short speakers initially cost £330 so the £99 I paid for them was a bargain too good to miss. They perform perfectly with everything I've put through them (and I've got some pretty eclectic and demanding stuff!) They are clear, warm yet fairly neutral and sound huge even though my living room is pretty large. Cosmetically they look good too, especially with the grilles removed, though this should be a secondary consideration to anyone serious about their music. They are the best speakers I have ever had, I just can't fault them.

Mordaunt Short MS25i - These Speakers are excellent for the price.
They have a metal dome tweeter for superb detail.
The woofer is powerfull and has a sustained bass response. They are also rear ported.
Sometimes the treble can be too loud, and overpower the low end noises, and almost hurt your ears when played loud, but then you can always turn down the treble on your amplifier.
To have these speakers at their best, they sould be properly mounted on stands and the rear, facing a wall, ...- Read Tobz's review (111 words)

I bought these Mordaunt Short MS25i Stereo speakers in 2001, for a very reasonable £150. they had a massive discount on them from a local hi-fi retailer since they are quite an old design. I would recommend these to anyone. They have a metal dome tweeter, very rare for such a price, and have good enough integration to make vocals sound INCREDIBLE. Tone is warm and welcoming, and the speakers work well with Marantz or Technics components. The bass is lighter then you would expect for floors ...- Read gallondrunk's review (173 words)

Oh 'Studio 1's' so that's the name of the speakers I learnt sound on. We had these when I worked at Wild Tracks in the late '80s. Always wondered what they were called.
