Good Points: The only good thing I can say about the cluny is it warms the kitchen in winter, opt for a barbeque in summer.
Extremely well built,in case of a nuclear attack, dive under stove, the family would survive!
Bad Points: Where do I begin!
General comments: I certainly would not recommend this Lacanche Cluny to anyone.
Take my advice stick with a Belling...Rangemaster.....Siemens anything but this. No grill, which I knew when buying but didn't realise how I would miss one.
The control knobs get hot when using either the gas or electric oven.
A real chore to clean.
Cannot light the oven with the automatic ignition any more, need matches. Something has dropped underneath the wretched thing, and it can stay there.
After sales service poor.

I have the optional steel simmer plate on my Lacanche Cluny, it's expensive but means youv have 6-8 pots on at one time...plus real slow simmering is an option. I spent £500 on a service..door hinges, new grill element etc after 6 years. But it has been a delight to use and my cooking has improved because of it. Like a good acoustic guitar it responds to playing and practise. Real heat is the thing. Viking...leave to Frasier- Read julianw2's review (94 words)

I absolutely love my Lacanche Cluny. I have dual fuel ovens with gas hob. It is very versatile, easy to cook with and a pleasure to own. I do a lot of cooking and entertaining and I wouldn't have anything else!- Read kimtubbs's review (53 words)

Do not waste your money on one of these. After doing some research, I have decided to switch over to a BlueStar. I would have gone with a Vulcan except they are not approved for residential use. Just lighting the burners is a chore. You have to hold the knob in until the element heats up.- Read runnerkev's review (82 words)

The Lacanche Cluny was my dream cooker for many years. I finally bought my all-gas Cluny in 2000. The best I can say is that I have learned to live with it. I would never recommend the Cluny (or probably Lacanche) to anyone else. The righthand oven door distorted over a period of 2 years, necessitating a new door. Five years on and the replacement door is now distorting and no longer seals fully.
Gas oven temperatures are extremely erratic. Gas 1 in my right oven is 140 C (OK) but Gas 5 is 2 ...- Read PatriciaA's review (242 words)

The after sales service is not good. The call out charges are high i.e. £100GPB +VAT for first 1/2 hour and £25 +VAT for subsequent 1/2 hours. The parts are expensive. There is a waiting list for engineers, at least in my region. I called Feb 6th to try and arrange an engineer and the first date I was offered was 2nd March. However, the staff in the Forneaux de France office are very polite and courteous.- Read Baljit's review (434 words and 1 comment)
