The back of my White Knight 847 tumble dryer exploded and engineer said that this is a fault with dryer and that white knight should replace. They were not interested as machine was 2 years old and not under warranty.

Had the white knight tumble dryer for just over 2 years, it is used a lot (we have 3 young kids) however i have just discovered that where the rear drum support ataches to the pack panel it has all started to split, does this mean it is not fit for purpose??? and i can get a replacement. Watch this space for an update. However up until now we have had no problems with it.

Thought it was the bees knees when I got a White Knight 847. The first one, but heater packed up after 2 years. Thought it was a fluke! Got second one, sure it dried a load in 20 minutes, 6 months down the line it dried a light load in 60 minutes, 13 months down the line (just when outside warranty) the heater has packed up again permanently. Now all I can do is dry my tears with a reliable tissue!

I thought a dryer was for drying cloths, but unfortunately in this case i must be wrong. If you like watching cloths going around in opposite directions for hours on end and then parading round in damp cloths on a fresh spring morning then this is a machine for you. As for recycling cloths you will end up with traffic jam at the dryer equivalent to the M25 on a weekday morning rush hour.
I think they forgot to put a heater in it when they designed it. As for energy efficiency i can't believe th ...

We've had our White Knight 847 for just over two years with no problems and my wife could wash for England. We mainly use the economy setting which basically uses cold air and takes 8-12 hours to dry - so you leave it all day or all night. It senses the dryness you set on the control knob and a light comes on when it is finished but it carries on tumbling (backwards and forwards) every few minutes until the door is opened. We have left it for a couple of days doing that.
It has very little impa ...
