    Good Points: Great picture and sound. Slim-line looks. One thing that did surprise me is that it will play mpeg videos on a data dvd. This means if you can convert avi video (or other format) files on a pc to mpeg, you can add a few films to a data dvd and play on this player! I do not think some recent players will do that.


    Bad Points: None that I can think of.


    General comments: The Philips DVD-728 is a great dvd player. mpeg playback is a BIG bonus. Burn mpeg films to a data dvd and play them back!

    Remembers up to 5 dvds where youu last stopped them, multi - region can play any region without any hassle + fast fas forward and rewind X32. So would recommend Philips DVD-728 to anyone looking for a solid dvd player with extra features

    I bought this Philips DVD728 player in July 2001 in Zhong Shan, China, and used it for about twenty hours in four years. It broke down for several times in the first six months after purchase and was sent for repair. This DVD player continued to breakdown without any signal from time to time.

    I am extremely disappointed with the overall performance of this model and the quality control by the manufacturer (Philips Beijing) of this player and cannot believe that it was manufactured by Philip ...
