We got an AEG Lavatherm thinking we should go for a more expensive make to get the reliability. But after about 15 month it seemed to develop some loose connections. Then the tension pulley for the drive belt failed. And finally (and I expect unrepairably) the front lip of the drum that acts as a bearing surface wore right through the metal.
Nice design - Shame it didn't last very long.

We bought an AEG condensor dryer for our flat. It sits in a cupboard in the hall. Having nowhere to hang washing and having people to stay every weekend means masses of washing especially bedding and towels. It works and works and works without fuss, every time. It's easy to use and does a really first rate job. It is expensive and paying a lot is no guarantee but in this case it was worth every penny. If you can...buy one. (read more)

Does it really not cause any problems having a dryer in a cupboard? We have considered it as we don't have space in the kitchen and our only option is to put it in an airing cupboard at the top of the stairs but just a little sceptical as to whether this will cause more problems than its worth?! If anybody could offer any help and advice it would be appreciated! Thanks
