Good Points: Cheap, cool-lookin', nice size for my hand (not too big,not too small)

Bad Points: Long-term quality may not be there.. Battery life could be better, but then it's a small battery, mass-wise..

General comments: After owning my Nokia 3530 now for approaching six months, I now identify with another owner who mentioned button malfunction after 5 months.

This is now also happening to me, but it may be the floppy keypad thingy behind the front-case of the phone, not the workings of the phone innards itself.
I say this because careful inspection with the front-case off, and the floppy keypad off, makes it easy to see that when you push a button, you in effect push a short(3mm.?) rubbery "pole" of sorts, and THAT 'pole' then pushes the REAL buttons of the phone's innards.
Take one apart, you'll see what I mean: - the solution may be to simply buy a new rubbery key-pad where 'pole' length is not yet shortened/compressed by five months of use...

Other than that, it's not a bad little phone, but somehow I doubt it'll go down in history as one of Nokia's more durable models.
And then... what the heck... after a year, who wants to be driving the same old car, the same old phone..?

I received my Nokia 3530 for Christmas 2003. I have not had any problems with it since. It is a simple mobile phone, but jam-packed with features. I love my phone, but it is a bit big. I suppose that is a good thing, as I have not lost it yet!!!!

At the ripe old age of fifty-four, the Nokia 3530 is my second cell-phone since losing my mobile phone virginity six months ago, and I'm thrilled with it.

It's waaay cooler than the comparatively-heavy Nokia 5125 it replaces.

I really liked this model's unusual keypad:
I saw it, I bought it!
-in fact this was The Very Feature that attracted me to the Nokia 3530:
It's probably just too cool for most of you out there, sorry..

Yes, it's a nice-lookin' phone at night, and is unusuall ...

    hi guys,
DO NOT .... i repeat DO NOT buy the Nokia 3530 mobile phone. The software is very very bad. I have got it repaired (believe it or not) twice in the past four months.Dont know what will happen once the gaurantee period runs out.
MY ADVICE: Do not go in for this phone because of its affordability, because u will regret it later,as me and my friends are, right now.

I just upgraded from a 5125. The menu on the Nokia 3530 is very familiar so it didn't take long to get used to it. The new key pad is good because it doesn't look like everyone else's phone. Games are great. Everything works fine so far. Only problem is I have to wait for my cell provider to enable WAP and GPRS before I can get new tones, games and software.

I owned a NOKIA 3530 on august 8th(2003).Actually I am in urgent need of cell at that time and I asked my friend to get me one.when she got this I was not at all satisfied by seeing this.she convinced me saying that this piece is having many options and the cheapest piece(WITH color screen).I was in a thought like who needs all options, only required is incoming call and outgoing call and same with messages. But now I totally disagree with my previous thoughts. It is very nice piece.Till now I didn ...

I have used nokia 3330, 5210 and 6210, in the past, but this Nokia 3530 may be the best of all,
the best thing about this mobile phone is that its cheap and that the biggest point that i think one should not spend too much money on cell phones if u can get every thing for less.
hope it runs well in the future.

Never buy a nokia phone! An advice to all of u. I bought this Nokia 3530 mobile phone 5 months back. Now it has given me more problems than pleasure. Its keypad has problems-- some buttons dont work, the phone automatically switches itself off and on itself, voice recognition aint there at all, even ringtone volume is very low. now i have gone to nokia sales and service centre to get this thing repaired, but after every visit, a new problem crops up. And this is my first nokia phone.
    Nokia nev ...

I have had this Nokia 3530 mobile phone for 4 months and I'm afraid the colour will all fade away after a year. Polyphonic tones are fine tuned now compared to its predecessor which is like fire engine sound. Surely this is the reincarnated 3510. Almost the inside is the same and just converted to colour. When this phone was released in the market I was really dying to have this phone. When I finally owned one and after a month of using I found it boring. I still love my 5210..

my girlfriend bought her new Nokia 3530 Mobile phone 2 days ago and it is very satisfying to her because of a very bright light especially at night. cool features like great games and cool keypad design!also, very affordable although lacks camera and fm stereo. However after charging the battery for 11 hrs, it displays lowbat or 1 bar after 1 day; we expected to have it low bat for min of 4 days! and the light is not as bright as other's celphone with the same model! my girl friend wants to retu ...

I screwed up my 3530 when I uploaded a gif file from Oxygen Phone Manager II software version 2.1. The phone failed to send the MMS then suddenly GPRS connection is no longer available even if I restored the GPRS and MMS settings from the local network provider.

I've owned a Nokia 3530 for just under 3 months now and I have to say that even though the key pad looks strange with the '2' and '5' on the same button (as is the '8' and '0') it is not hard at all to get the one you want. In fact just ignore the fact that its 1 button (i.e. its 1 piece of rigid plastic, obviously different electrical contacts below) and use it like you would a normal nokia key pad! Its a great phone with dimensions which are great for those who can't stand those new microscopi ...

Finally a phone which is biggish but slick. A truly awesome phone., Better than a stopid 5210. At least i can press the buttons. The colour screen, the affordability, the games, even the buttons(tough at first) make it a nice aesthetically balanced and ergonomically balanced phone. ITs a fresh looking phone too, its a fun phone too. Very Highly Recommmended

The quality of the OS is good overall for normal use. However for a seasoned user with fast fingers, the phone might develop problems and will eventually become unstable. So use it with care. The features of shared memory is very attarctive since this feature will literally allow unlimited messages and other received items to be stored. Calendar, auto-lock, timed profiles, wallpapers are new and interesting features to have around. An advice on using this phone is that when choosing the right ga ...

I have had the Nokia 3530 for a few weeks now and have had no problems with it. This phone looks really good at night, if you have the blue sort of transparent cover. What i like about the features is that you can store alot of info. about each person, including their email addy, diff. numbers, postal address, webpage..etc. I find that handy, coz then u can easily access info.
The phone is not too heavy, for its size and has a a rubber bit on the back of the phone which you can place your finger ...

The Nokia 3530 is a wonderful phone if you do not wish to spend a lot of money. Not only is it cheap, cheaper than others that have coloured screen, it has already preset JAVA games, plus with the option to download more through WAP. The polyphonic ringtones are clear, though some are quite dull. However, do not worry because there is room to download, through WAP, more ringtones and add them to the Gallery section. Other than this phone being a bit bulky (good for those that dislike smaller ...
