We had a wonderful time at the Marlita Beach Apartments, we choose the take the half board option food was good and help as we were on a tight budget. There is a track along the sea front to Portarus and only take 10 mins. At the mo this is been done up and should be ready for next year. The accommodation is just out of Protaras and in Pernera, the taxi fare is 10 euros. We are looking forward to going back next year and we will book the same resort and accommodation.

Our 1 week stay at Marlita Beach, Protaras during the 1st week of June 2008 was the best holiday we have ever had.
It was hot every day, approx 36 degrees, hotel was fantastic, very clean and staff lovely, food was great.
scuba diving lessons available on site, of which we tried and loved.
very close to a few different beaches.
absolutely fantastic, going back in September!

The apartments could do with a face lift but overall the holiday for value was very good.
The staff including made you feel very welcome & my children loved them to bits.
I shall be holidaying at the Marlita this year with confidence again because it has a welcome approach and my family enjoy the Warm welcome from all who work there.

I have gone to Cyprus for 17 years and it is a lovely place and I stayed in the Marlita Beach 8 years ago when it was newer and the staff were friendly and the surrounding areas were very well kept it is sad to see that this place has gone so down hill. I will return to Cyprus but not to the Marlita Beach.

I was sad to leave the Marlita Beach Apartments, I was only there a week and wished I could stay longer. The only bad point was the beds were hard, the staff were all very friendly, the entertainment was brilliant the reps work really hard day and night, the food was very good, we were self catering and mainly ate in the hotel because the children did not want to leave the entertainment. The pool was very nice and clean as was the surrouning area. There was a play area for the smaller children and a snooker table and air hockey for the bigger ones. There were two halfs of the beach, one side was ok with sun loungers but the other half was very rocky.
This did not really bother us as we stayed around the pool which had plenty of sun loungers. The beer is not that badly priced but the bottles of bud and smurnoff are.

Our first night at Marlita Beach Apartments was a nightmare. Our apartment smelled of urine, one of the windows didn't have curtains and there was a lot of noise throughout the night. The dustbin lorry was emptying the large bins in front of our apartment at 3:00am and the cleaners had what appeared to be a noisy meeting directly outside our bedroom window at 8am. We eventually moved to an apartment that was OK.
The entertainment was terrible and consisted mainly of quizzes, bingo, karaoke and 'artistes' that sounded like Karoake singers they were that bad.
We had booked on a self-catering basis and I'm very glad we hadn't booked half board as the restaurant was not a very pleasant place to eat even though the food was ok.

Marlita was hot but pleasantly breezy, but still remember your sun cream.
Trip to Famagusta was good. Excellent beach area contrasted with the 'ghost town' following the 74 Turkish invasion.
Agia Napa wasn't bad either, although we returned to resort before midnight.
Really enjoyed the trip - great for families.

Marlita Beach Apartment was such a nice place to stay and Lindsay and I recommend it. The reps Chris, Airon and dom were excellent entertainers for young and old. A great laugh and these helped make our holiday.

If u have kids make sure you bring high factor sun cream gets very hot 39-42 degrees good food, good wine, good craic what more can I say just home and we have already booked for next year. Very good entertainment for kids 10-15 min walk along beach to town centre bars, tavernas, shops. Although you dont have to leave hotel as the entertainment the reps put on for the kids is exellent, buffet style resturant is good different menu every night from around the world and if you dont like that there's always the bar menu burgers chips etc for the kids .Kids club is exellent on 6 days a week morning + afternoon keeps them out of the mid day sun does get very hot but there is always a cool breeze blowing good size pool and always plenty of sunbeds every body is from uk no Germans up at the crack of dawn stealing best sun beds

I went on holiday to Marlita Beach Apartments with my partner and my 3yr old son, we had the most enjoyable holiday ever and have vowed to return 1 day. The location is excellent if you have young children because you have the beach and the pool a stone's throw away from each other. The food at Marlita was very good and the surrounding restaurants were great too

My boyfriend and I visited Cyprus- marlita beach apartments for the first time ever in august 2004, having read glowing reports of the place. Initial impressions of the area were positive but having arrived the first morning at 4am, we were a little 'upset' to have a rude awakening from the cleaner 5 hours later who knocked gently then walked straight in! Our room was on the 4th floor and we had very nice sea views and well enough away from the hustle and bustle. The hotel of course is geared towards families and I'm sure loved by kids but certainly not ideal for a 'couples' holiday. Entertainment in the evening catered for kids and was a bit repetitive. We found the drinks pricey in the hotel so mainly ventured out in the evenings. We did not find staff in the hotel particularly friendly (in fact we rarely saw anyone smile!) And much could be said for the local bars. The only exceptions to this were the 'waikiki bar' where we were warmly received and the bar where jimmy spender appears (the name escapes me but it's close to the Anastasia hotel).
warning! You will receive in your welcome pack a special offer from the nearby 'Ionis' supermarket. This proved to be a bit of a scam. Basically you were told that if you spend £30 there and took your till receipt back, along with an entry form you had the chance to win a holiday in Cyprus. The draw we were told took place every 1st and 15th of each month. We arrived on the 8th and duly submitted our entry form on the 15th. However the so-called 'winning entry' drawn on the 1st of that month remained pinned up on the wall; and this person had gone home on the previous 29th July! This 'winning' entry remained pinned to the board for the duration of our stay, and although I queried the fact that the '15th' winner had failed to be pinned up I was fobbed off with excuses. Be warned. Save your money and shop at the much nicer supermarket across the road.
the ladies loo floor was always swimming in urine and lacking in loo paper and for some reason always felt like a sauna?
there was always a smell of sewers in the air and over a couple of days our bathroom smelt of the same. This same smell seemed to be in the air almost everywhere and it clung to your clothing and hair. (even when we got home our clothes reeked of it!)
I don't know what cooking oil is used in Cyprus- and I have a fairly adventurous palate but everything seems to be cooked in it and it tastes rancid. You can smell it everywhere.
hire a car if you can and drive into famagusta. It is possible, not well-signposted and you will need your passport but well worth the effort. At the border you will need to be issued with a visa and pay £8 extra insurance for your vehicle but then you can drive straight in.
we headed for the beach which is right next to the deserted hotels- very impressive and the best view you'll get of the city.
this being our first visit to Cyprus- I feel that we have seen as much as we can but don't think I will return.

Pernera, Protaras Marlita Beach Apartment - We were new to Cyprus, never visited the island before! We will definitely be returning soon! It was by far our best holiday! With such great apartments and friendly staff we had a ball! I'd like to say that the entertainments reps were great and lovely! Looking forward to going back to Marlita just to see them! It truly was the best place to be!

Visiting Marlita this October was the most fantastic holiday, a great 21st birthday! The staff were brilliant and the whole place had a buzzing atmosphere. This was my first visit to cyprus and I shall be going back very soon. Marlita is in a great place for watersports and being able to sunbathe around the pool with the sea breeze made it even better for soaking up the rays!! The bar was also great with entertainment provided every night, and good looking waiters always helps!!
