bought new microwave oven-after being faulty and out of 'warranty' took to local repairer---parts are not available, apparently spare parts unavailable, as they are 'obsolete'. What a poor investment after such a short time!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will never buy this expensive rubbish again. (read more)

Purchased new kitchen and they recommended Dietrich appliances and these appliances spoilt my kitchen I without dount could have spent at least 70% less and got far better not only that their customer services should be prosecuted under trade descriptions. Three of appliances broke within 13 months but because i was not told by my kitchen fitter I need to register my appliance i was out of warrenty and having spent over £5,000 I was not happy! I agree, I bought an double oven from Applicance City, and it was bleeping, and turning itself on running through all the program's and turning itself off.
I did not know this as it was happening randomly. So I called Appicance City requesting a replacement with a new oven @£898.00.
AC said that they would only repaire since the problem was reported 28days from purchase. Oven is not what i use every day, like a microwave or dishwasher, plus working I was not at home to notice the problem earlier.
After 3 days taken out for the engineer to call try to fix the problem, close to 15 calls and time taken to do this, I am still waiting to a brand new oven that should be working perfectly from day one!
Customer Service at Appliacnce City, DeDietrich and all the contracts involved to order, authorise, book the call out, engineers (who did know the technical side of the oven to fix it!) and chasing all the above I'm still waiting for Appliacnce City to receive the report from the engineer to find a solution to what has become a thorn in my side and bottomless costs to have an oven that is not showing to be dangerous and an oven that works!

We purchased a house which had the integrated appliances removed so felt obliged to mirror the same manufacturer as the oven and induction hob already present. We purchased an oven/microwave combo and a steam oven. To sum up briefly, extremely stylish, at the top end of the price scale. Very poor products, even worse back up, not intuitive. Knowing then what I know now I would have rather re-newed the hob and oven which were in working order and bought into a credible brand like Neff, Miele... (read more)

I bought a new De Dietrich oven recently, had it installed but it was faulty. Went back to supplier but owners had retired, so spoke to manufacturer. They said that although they offer a 1 year manufacturers warranty, mine was not the latest model so refused to repair. I said oven was not fit for purpose but they said liability is with supplier so legally they don't have to do anything. I have had the same experience with De Dietrich, do not touch them with a barge pole, their product failed within six months of purchase and when it failed again less than a year later they refused to fix it, despite the fact that we had been given a 5yr warranty that they now claim they have no record of.

Bought an induction hob 18 months ago. Within 6 months the sensors controls failed. These were replaced. At the time the engineer broke the glass top. Through Christmas with sticky tape on hob. Returned to same fault 3 months later. Six months later, same problem. Rang DE-DIETRICH to be told that all manufacturers have failure rates. As with others posting reviews here, I am utterly disappointed with the reliability (or lack of it!) from what was branded a top-end product. When I spoke to De Dietrich head office in the UK I was told that their ovens only had a life expectancy of 5-6 years! Had I have known this I would never have purchased one. The double oven controls are made of plated styrene. The vapour from the oven attacks the styrene resulting in splitting. We are on our fourth set of 4 knobs; at £54.00 per set - an expensive spare. De Dietrich refuse to acknowledge the fault or supply under a 10 year guarantee. The latest set do not even fit! - although confirmed as correct by their appointed spares supplier. (read more)

Owning a De Dietrich product is an absolute nightmare. I spent £2000 on a double oven and hob as part of a new kitchen installation and they are the most unreliable appliances that I have ever owned. This coupled with the worst warranty repair service that I have ever experienced makes the entire decision to buy from this manufacturer an expensive mistake.
The oven clock ran slow. When repaired it was rewired so that top oven controls operated bottom oven and vice versa. Next engineer...

We've had our De Dietrich range cooker for a while now - we were foolishly talked into buying it when we had our kitchen refitted, and knowing no better we went along with a salesman's advice. What fools we were. Within months, the rubber trim had come off around the doors of both ovens and proved impossible to replace or refit. Well were should I start! A great looking oven but what a load of rubbish and the american idiot on customer services needs his head looking at, he is sooo rude.
How this man can be allowed to work talking calls in customer services it surpasses me! Unbelieveable!!!
We have had the element changed at our cost... the electronic box that tells the oven the door is either open or closed and has broken for the second time, the fan is noisey and the matching microwave is also noisey!

A complete disaster.And when I complained to Die Dietrich got nowehere fast. Letter from a service manager said their warranty is operated by an independent organisation and they do not emply repair engineers.
They then had the nerve to conclude "we assure you of our best attention at all times.I am now in the process of buying a Leisure cooker at a fratction of the Fagor Brandt price!!

We bought a top of the range De Dietrich DOD 798 double oven just over a year ago, and it has proved an utter disaster.
Instead of using simple dials and knobs, all controls are activated by faint touch symbols, with different symbol combinations to touch for each task. Consequently our oven is plastered with sticky notes reminding us what to do to achieve the settings needed. It drives us crazy. I agree that the repairs service is *pathetic* - you can't get through on the phone, though it's a number for which they charge you, and having booked online I waited in all day yesterday and they didn't turn up - and didn't even ring. It's a good oven, very old but now needs repair. I'd never recommend de Dietrich! (read more)

My advice would be - never ever buy a Die Dietrich product - you have been warned!They look good, are easy to use, but are totally unreliable. I am on my third oven in 3 years and the rings on the induction hob(two on this occassion)have just failed again. This will be the second induction hob if it has to be replaced (which I suspect it will). The wiring melted on the first one! I spent over 2K on this kit. I would never ever ever buy ANY De Dietrich appliances again and can only wholeheartedly agree with all the comments here. My experiences have been a nightmare I spent nearly 2k on various De Dietrich kitchen appliances from a kitchen supplier. When I started to have problems I found De Dietrich'customer service' totally unhelpful and inconsiderate (not surprisingly found out they are not owned by De Dietrich they are a third party servicing company)

Never, ever, buy a De Dietrich kitchen. When something goes wrong you are in deep trouble. The 'customer service' is the worst and most horrible we have ever experienced. It took NINE phone calls over FOUR HOURS to even get an appointment for a service engineer to call.
Staff are uninformed, inept, unhelpful, uncaring and hopelessly disorganised. The four year parts warranty (you must first apply for it - why?) is not recognised, credit card details are demanded before...

I found this review very helpful because...I have had the same experience myself. everything Mary said strikes a chord with me. I'm waiting for a replacement cooker which I should be getting next week, only by threatening legal action. Under the Goods and Services act, after a repair, they have to replace the item. I've had 4 repairs in under 2 years, and I'm not waiting for my warranty to expire in January and have to pay every call out myself!
<br/>your contract is with the shop you bought it from-not the manufacturer. So the shop is obliged to replace the item -they can sort it out with the manufacturer after, as far as I'm concerned.

We bought an induction hob 18 months ago and for most of that time it was only used once a week but recently keeps cutting off the power.On contacting manufacturer we were told that it was no longer under warranty because it hadn't been registered with them for the 2 year warranty ( even though they had sent us the free pan offer on purchase )! We had De Dietrich appliances fitted into our new kitchen in April 2009,as we liked the style. We then found that when siting their conventional oven next to their steam oven, that none of the joints lined up. Also, the user interface is diffrent and so are the clocks etc.! The kitchen supplier recommended a De Dietrich Induction Hob. We took the advice. The hob cost £800
On first use, one of the rings produced a smell of electrical overheating. We were told 'It's just the newness'. Three years on, the hob broke, we paid £123 to De Deitrich for repairs. They fitted a new control panel. The overheating smell is now worse - and they say there is nothing more they can do. No refund for the 'repair'.

I wish I'd read some reviews before spending well over £1K on a De Dietrich double oven (the model was DOD448 ).
After less than three years of very light use, the oven broke down. It then took no less than six engineer visits before it was eventually fixed. We had no oven for three months and this was over the Christmas period. Oh, and we had to pay the fixed £75 labour charge as De Dietrich refused to pay for anything more than parts because we were outside the inital guarantee period....

Bought a De Dietrich DOD717X the first week in April. Two weeks into May, and it's needing a second repair
Bottom oven used twice, First time the glass shattered on it. It took three weeks for the replacement to arrive and be fitted. The engineer told us this was a common fault.
The second time it was used this happened again and repair time cannot be confirmed. Will NEVER buy anything from De Dietrich again.

After only 14 months use, the DOD788X double oven will not work, following a Pyrolitic clean. I am a kitchen retailer. I sold a De Dietrich oven to a customer in October 2008, it is only needed for the summer months as she has an AGA for winter use. On using the oven for the first time the glass cracked. Long story but essentially De Dietrich say the glass is only covered under warranty for one month from date of purchase. Almost 12 months later we are still fighting to get a spare part to repair this oven.
It is impossible to contact this company directly, the only numbers offered...

We moved house 6 years ago and inherited an immaculate and brand new looking fitted kitchen with all fitted De Dietrich appliances. Before long we found the product/ design faults and will not recommend anybody to choose this brand. The cooker hood regularly falls off onto the hob. Refitting it is such a performance as the 4 metal clips are too shallow. The vibration (when using the cooker hood) will loosen the grip and it would fall without any warning. We have a De Dietrich DOD348 oven and an induction hob and are generally very satisfied, especially with the induction hob which is fabulous. When we bought the oven some years ago we had so many unresolved problems that eventually de Dietrich upgrade us to a brand new DOD348. The fan heater element in the main oven has now failed and I have purchased a replacement with the assurance from my dealer that it could be replaced fairly easily. Where shall I start? The oven light went within 2 months, the oven temp. was appalling but then I found out eventually (as usual, after the guarantee ran out) that the fan had probably, NEVER worked. We have now owned 2 De Dietrich ovens since 1998. Our next door neighbours also bought one in 1999 on our recommendation. In the first 5 years our neighbours and I were on first name terms with the engineers who came out to fix our ovens. Main problem was after using pyroclean the mother board would blow and oven would not work at all. We also had cracked oven knobs, glass door blew out - and other minor faults. Oh how familiar this sounds! Have 3 hob appliances and 2 DD ovens. The Teppanyaki blew up shortly after installation and the repair has not worked. The wok hob was faulty and still is, despite repeated visits by at least 2 different repairmen, neither of whom knew how to repair it. The convection hob is now also failing on the main ring and I think I might prefer to leap off the nearest cliff than have to deal with either RepairCare or indeed De Dietrich itself ever again - we have had months of utter misery and frustration and the company does not seem to care one iota - the best offer was a small % off new equipment (as if I would ever want to buy DD again!) and since then complete silence.
Do NOT ever buy De Dietrich unless you want to make your life hell and your kitchen a saga of failed meals...
