Good Points: Great performances. Great songs. V funny.

Bad Points: Most of it's Ad lib so can occasionally 'miss the mark'

General comments: 'This is Spinal Tap' is a spoof 'rockumentary' following the U.S tour of heavy rock band 'Spinal Tap' (funnily enough). It was made in the early eighties so you won't find any gross out humour (well...Ok....A bit). But it's a very funny film, very well played. It's pretty much improvised, so can occasionally fail to elicit the required laughs. But on the whole it's great. The songs especially have me cracking up consistently. One word of warning though, I myself am a drummer in a heavy metal band, and have encountered the kind of stuff that happens to '..Tap'. So this may well make it seem funnier to me than non musicians. (Much in the same vein as my wife rating 'The office' comedy series. She loves it 'cos it's apparently very true to life!... I wouldn't know.) Fans of 'The Simpsons' may also be interested in bass player Derek Smalls, played by Harry Shearer, who voices Rev Lovejoy and Principal Skinner among many others. (listen closely, and you'll be able to tell which other characters too)
