I have had this Tech Force TF79 for about 1.5 years and I see that the last review was in 2007 so I guess this is a update on this gun. Stock: it seems it was made from a very soft wood (2X4 pine) finish was so bad I just painted it black.looks nice now. In order to take the action from the stock the booklet states to remove the safety. Mine was hammered over and was not possible to remove.I ended up removing some wood on the inside of the stock so that the safety could slide up through the stock. Now the rest, It worked fine shots were right on the money but after a while the 12g co2 carts. began not to unload and sometimes one would not release the co2. The unit came with a bulk loading atachment so now that I have a co2 tank left over from a pop machine I will try to see if that fixes the problem. I hpoe this helps anyone that is going to get one or has one of these Tech force 79 air rifles.

Mine is actually the Shanghai Industry brand AR 2078A but it's basically the same gun. I got it through Archer Airguns and got the gold service included for about the same price that Compasseco gets. I can shoot very accurately with this gun, much better than my spring piston air guns.- Read Sukhoidave's review (82 words)

The TechForce TF79 is a great gun - unbelievable for the money. My back yard (garden) extends over 40 yards from my back porch. I can hit soft drink cans, squirrels, or starlings with very little holdover.- Read bsalter5's review (120 words)

I was very pleasantly surprised when I opened the box and unwrapped my Shanghai TechForce TF79. Reviews of earlier examples stated the quality of the stock in particular was poor. Mine is from the latest shipment from China and they have made remarkable improvements in the quality of both wood and metal work. Appearance wise mine is every bit as good and my RWS Diana 45.
I removed the open rear sight and installed the diopter (or peep) rear sight to see how it shot. It soon became apparent ...- Read gdrought's review (891 words)

I have been shooting this target air rifle for allmost 16 months and still like it. The target stock fits an average person around 5'6" to around 5'10" tall. Larger shooters should consider an adjustable butt plate to lengthen the stock. Fit and finish is as good as any other chinese rifle (nothing to scream "look at me").
The sights could be better, front globe is offset slightly and the post is sized for a deadcenter hold when they are sighted in using the globe sight. A little filing o ...- Read Hartswoods's review (355 words and 1 comment)

This is my 1st air rifle and I am very satisfied with it. I am able to shoot with accuracy from a rest or off hand at 10 meters. As an entry gun this is excellant choice. With 2 co2 cylinders, I can get 60+ shots, after which the accuracy drops off. I am happy with the "TF 79"- Read Shirley's review (123 words)

I purchased the "TF 79" at the NRA Convention in Orlando Florida after shooting one at the air rifle range. I have been quite impressed. While this is my 1st air rifle, it has performed well and at 10 metters I've hit with accuracy everything I've been aiming at.
I really have no complaints. I would think this would be a good entry model.- Read Pete Smith's review (66 words)

The TF79 is supposedly a junior target version of the more popular QB78 and is a CO2 powered air gun. I bought it primarily for the target stock, which is too short for many full sized American shooters. I had to add an inch and a half to the pull to be able to use a scope properly. It comes with both a rear notch and peep sight and a front globe sight with two inserts, circular and post. None of these sights are worth much, at least not for me. I scoped mine.
The stocks tend to break ...- Read Beammeupscotty's review (383 words)
