I'm 11 years old and have suffered for dandruff for years but recently it has been getting worse so my mum brought me this t-gel and I used it and my head skin turned really dry and my for-head was so dry I had cuts on my head so my mum said wash it out with baby oil and my head burned and wouldn't stop even co-coda mol wasn't helping or wearing it away . I didn't like anything about it I would of liked to know that some people are allergic or have reactions (read more)

I have used T/Gel for years for itchy, flaky patches on my scalp. The results are quick and I would give this product 5 stars if it weren't for the new fragrance. It smells awful and I have some allergic reaction to it. The new fragrance has got to go. I recently had a stress caused episode of guttate psoriasis on my chest. Nothing worked to clear it up. I washed the area with T/Gel shampoo and it cleared up the rash in a few days. But my eyes were burning until the smell faded, which... (read more)

I would look past all the negative reviews here and give it a shot. I had some bad psoriasis going on and after the first time I used the original formula t-gel, I noticed a change in both itching and size of the bumps on my head. My dandruff has pretty much passed as well. This stuff worked great for me. All I had to do was prioritize my priorities of either beating the psoriasis and have my hair not looking silky smooth for a couple weeks or suffer and hope to find something that cures... I am a senior with a long history of dandruff, flaking scalp. One of the products I was using successfully is no longer available. So I tried this product . It temporary ( 24 hours ) gave me some relief however I would say it has not performed as well as the previous product I used. My hair was limp and felt dirty all the time. I find the fragrance used is offensive to me. (read more)

I have bought this product because I could not use fragrance stuff, caused me itchy scalp. It helped me to get rid off itching but my hair left dull and lifeless although it was promise about shiny hair. For couple years I am struggling with thinning, falling hair. It seems nothing works, I am giving up, it just wasting time and your money. (read more)

I have been using this for 3 weeks now. I wanted a shampoo that would help with greasy hair as I had to wash mine everyday. Also, I wanted a shampoo that would clear dandruff and mild psoriasis.
I think this shampoo is v. good. It has made my hair less greasy and less dandruff. However, it has not completly got rid of all dandruff. It has also cleared 90% of psoriasis so far. I can cope with the smell as it is like Teetree oil.
It is a good shampoo and good for money.
The down sides: it... (read more)

I am 10 which is 2 years younger than the recomended age and it's rubish!!!!!! I used it after my scalp was extremly icthy but not very flaky. I have been using it about 2 times a week for 3 weeks and it hasn't improved my scalp. It has helped a bit but not a lot. I feel it would help people with a less itchy scalp but people like me would not realy beifit them. One thing that would have helped would be like a rate of how many people who have tried it would reccomend it to a friend.

I used this shampoo as my scalp was slightly itchy due to a hair that had been applied. The packaging said for "itchy" scalp. Within two/three hours after using the product my scalp was burning. The symptoms continued through the night and severely the next day. My head was literally burning. When I consulted the pharmacist I was told that I had this reaction because of the coal tar content and the fact that my hair had been coloured. There should be a CLEAR warning on the packaging. I used T gel to relieve psoriasis and an embarrassing itchy flaky scalp, caused from an allergic reaction to hair dye. Neutrogena worked wonders for my hair, the itchiness almost immediately stopped, my scalp feels like it can breathe again........the smell wasn't an issue for me, I kind of liked it! However due to over sensitive skin I had one of the side effects, my face broke out into acne, so as a result I have had to stop using it.
Don't use it every day; of course it will be too much... (read more)

out of the blue, I developed a scalp condition (itching, soreness, flakiness etc) never having had any such thing before. My doctor suggested various treatments which were agony and then, as i was evidently reacting badly to those, suggested T/Gel, as it doesn't contain alcohol. And, amazingly, it was a success. I use it twice weekly when the condition is bad and then once weekly afterwards.
Yes, if your hair is treated cosmetically, it does leave it feeling 'matted' and so all you need... (read more)

My question is does Neutrogena T/Gel help reduce acne in the scalp? I have been looking for a product that relieves this condition, and I don't know if the acne is due to oily scalp or something else. I also hope this product does not make the acne worse? I bought it on a whim and later realized that it treats psoriasis, which I don't have, so I am trying to guage the usefulness of this product for people like me.
Also, can T/Gel be combined with other shampoos? (read more)

I used Neutrogena T Gel shampoo 3 times according to the directions due to psoriasis and I have now lost Over a half a head of hair due to this product. I don't know why this product is on the market as a shampoo if it makes hair fall out. I am 28 and have had psoriasis on my scalp since I was a child. I have been under alot of stress recently which resulted in my condition getting extremely itchy, flaky and sore.

I occasionally have eczema at the back of my scalp but keeping hair clean keeps it under control. A family drama a couple of weeks ago made me stressed for a few days and the eczema was really bad - lumpy and raw where I tried to pick off the dry skin.
I bought some T-Gel at the supermarket, applied it for 30 minutes (it instantly felt calming) then washed my hair. Within 2-3 days, the whole lot cleared up. It was fantastic! Just one application! So liberating!

Neutrogena T-Gel Shampoo - I have had psoriasis for more than ten years. Used various medications prescribed by my GP like Betamethasone valerate scalp application, Cocois ointment, Trimovate, Exorex, Eurax and many more. Having run out of my usual shampoo for my eczema on my scalp, I bought some of this, as it came recommended, and I used it on Saturday. I ended up at my GP's with a severe allergic reaction to it. I had sore swollen eyes and eye lids, a swollen face, and an itchy rash over my face, neck, and in my ears. I now have to take 6 steriod tablets and an antihistamine until it clears up. My GP has suggested that I do not use it again. (read more)

Having tried and failed with numerous other anti-dandruff shampoos I was rather sceptical of my wife's claim that T-Gel would work. However she was right and within a few days I could wear dark coloured tops without having to stand outside and brush off all the snowflakes!
