I have been using TGEL original formula for a long time (5 years) with great success to control my psoriasis. I have a finished bottle that I acquired last year and the ingredient states "0.5% Coal Tar,(Neutar Solubilized Coal Tar Extract 2%). Now I have found that the medicinal ingredients have been changed recently to "0.5% Coal Tar/Goudron Mineral (0.5%) and this chnge in the Medicinal ingredient is causing adverse effect on the control of my condition. This change also requires the more frequent use of the product to control the itchiness and psoraisis. With respect to the Medicinal ingredients, there is a noticeable stronger aroma with the product and the aroma will stay longer in the scalp/hair region and hands even after rinsing well. In addition, the new raw material has reduced the effectiveness of the product.

I complained to Neutrogena via their website and received 2 coupons for free products and a refund also.

Started using this around a month ago and couldn't continue. Have fine hair and mild psoriasis on my scalp (flakiness and itching BAD BAD BAD!!). Used Neut. T Gel for 3 nights on the trot and had never seen my hair so dry and wispy, was frightened it was all falling out. Smells strong, which I was OK with until I saw the state of my hair after. Does it contain some sort of bleach???!!!! Does it say on it to avoid if having fine hair? (I threw bottle away....)

The mornings following the applicat ...

I get a lot of itchy bumps on my scalp...sometimes like acne, sometimes like warts, sometimes like psoriasis... I don't know what it is, but Neutrogena T-Gel seems to work on dry, itching, bumpy scalp if I use it once or twice a week....but OMG>.. the smell!! Awful!! I haven't found anything else that smells nice and works as well, though, so I guess I'll have to keep using it! I always feel self conscious going to work...I wonder if other people can smell my disgusting hair.

I used Neutrogena T-Gel Shampoo ex strength for the first time today, having read my symptoms for scaly, flaky scalp online. When I took my towel off from my head I found my hair full of white flakes. I was kinda shocked but I want to know if anyone else had the same situation? Is that how its supposed to work?I brushed the flakes off...but I am very scared. Please help.

Did helped relieve my itchy scalp! It did help with my itchy scalp, but i do wonder what damage was being done to my hair. Perhaps it is just my hair, that looked and felt like a birds nest, when i rinsed the shampoo out. Once i did get the comb through, it did feel soft.

Neutrogena T-Gel Shampoo - I have had psoriasis for more than ten years. Used various medications prescribed by my GP like Betamethasone valerate scalp application, Cocois ointment, Trimovate, Exorex, Eurax and many more. All these medications require every day use for many times a day and I have never had real long term result from it. Maximum one week. Like many above I lost my confidence due to bleeding itching patches under my elbow and knees. My scalp was so severe affected that I was bleed ...

For scalp eczema (seborrhoeic dermatitis) it is fabulous! I've tried various ointments and medicated shampoo's with limited success. If you keep using it as directed the problem goes away and stays away i found.

I've used this T-Gel product every time I get a flare up on my scalp where it meets my face. I also get flare ups on both sides of my nose and I actually scrub it on my face in the shower. If I don't use it for a while, the problem will re-occur. My husband has bad eczema on his fingertips and we're going to try using this product on them.

As soon as I stop using Neutrogena, problems comes back. Wouldn't mind but for the cost of it, okay if you only wash your hair once a fortnight.

I had suffered from a large, itchy, scabby patch of scalp eczema for over 30 years. The doctors hadn't been able to cure it. I had had various steroid lotions over the years and tried various over the counter and prescription shampoos. I used T-gel as instructed for two weeks and amazingly, my eczema has completely gone - that was about 10 months ago and there's no sign of it at all now. I haven't had to re-use the T-gel - I think I am cured at last. This is the first time that an over the cou ...

I have tried so many shampoos and conditioners but Neutrogena T-Gel Shampoo was the only one that worked for me. I love it and won't use any other shampoo and conditioner now. A little expensive but with the situation my scalp was in I am really happy with it.

I was recommended to T/Gel Neutrogena by my consultant for an itchy scalp (unidentified Dermatitis). Like Wendy from Cornwall I had a very severe allergic reaction and I am still suffering the after effects two and half weeks later.

My Dermatologist recommended Neutrogena T-Gel Shampoo, and I use it occasionally. I recently had a flare up of an itching, scabbing, oozing scalp, and was out of this product. I did not hesitate to rush to the store and get some more. It works better than anything else I have tried.
I considered lathering my whole body with it to get rid of itching elsewhere also.

Having run out of my usual shampoo for my eczema on my scalp, I bought some of this, as it came recommended, and I used it on Saturday. I ended up at my GP's with a severe allergic reaction to it. I had sore swollen eyes and eye lids, a swollen face, and an itchy rash over my face, neck, and in my ears. I now have to take 6 steriod tablets and an antihistamine until it clears up. My GP has suggested that I do not use it again.

Neutrogena T-Gel Shampoo - I did not like using this product, the price is not value for money and the odor is that strong it makes your eyes water (smells like putting tarmac on your head). I am a great believer in having healthy looking hair and this product left my hair straw-like and tangled.

I bought Neutrogena T-Gel Shampoo after suffering with an outbreak of dandruff. The colour did not attract me as it was a browny, sticky colour. The smell did not help either. Although it dried out my hair, it did seem to remove any traces of dandruff and I would use it again if needs be. Luckily I have not had the problem of dandruff since.
