Good Points: Best SFX for a TV series up until that time. Best set designs. Outstanding musical score (Barry Gray/Year 1)

Bad Points: No solid "acting". Bad science. Ambiguous plotlines.

General comments: Space: 1999 - Series 1 missed the mark when it came to story development & acting. Upon careful re-watching I discovered that, upon first viewing, the stories didn't make a lot of sense. However, as Ben Kenobi said, the stories could have been better had the performances been enhanced by a "certain point of view" other than what, at first, seemed to be the "original" point of view.
However, while "Battlestar Galactica" was the "Star Wars" of television, "Space:1999" was the "2001" for TV. Both productions are what I consider to be an "acquired taste" requiring a VERY open mind & extreme objectivity.
