Neon Genesis Evangelion - The End Of Evangelion Review; I am a die hard eva fan. I have seen all the episodes and own all the DVDs. And then at christmas I recieved this film along with the first part "Death and Rebirth". Having seen the entire series and quickly realising that the last three episodes were done under a cut budget, I though I would try this. This film was made by the director several years after the end of the series. This film in itself is excellent but if you have seen the series this gets better. For anyone not fimilar with the Eva story it is about a boy called Shinji Ikari who is called up by his father(who abdonned him) to pilot a new "robot". This "robot" is designed to help destroy the "Angels", an alien race who seem to want to destroy the humanity. The "robot" is actually a biomechanical battle suit that thinks on its own if pushed enough. If I say anything else I will ruin the story for newcomers. Anyway this story tries (and succeeds) in tieing up all the loose ends of the story, although it goes about it in a very graphic manner. Not that I dislike violence but I feel it was unnessecary for anyone who understood the last episode(which is quite wierd). The animation is, as usual from Studio Gainax, brillant but the dubbing could be better. This like many other animes can wipe the floor with disney animation, yet holds its own style after a different team made it. All in All this is a good purchase for everybody but think twice is you can understand the last couple of episodes.
