Bought this as a birthday present to myself, after reading the reviews on here. It's my first CO2 & my first Crosman. I've owned many airguns over the last 40+ years, mainly British or German. Currently I also have a BSA .22 Goldstar rifle, a Webley Hurricane .22 pistol, & a 1950's Webley Junior rifle. It cost £90, with accessories. Which is probably far less than any of my others would fetch 2ndhand! And guess which I use most? It's obviously built down to a price - but the only parts... (read more)

I am in charge of a youth shooting range in New England, USA. We have nine Crosman 3576W CO2 revolvers and about 50 ten-shot rotary magazines. These Crosman revolvers are great. In two years we have not had a single one break, jam or otherwise cause any problems. They are plenty accurate enough for 50 foot shooting at targets as small as spent shotgun hulls. Accurate, reliable and inexpensive - you can't go wrong with the Crosman 357. (read more)

I got this air pistol after reading reviews on here. I already have a Crosman 2250b Ratcatcher (awesome too) and wanted a pistol for target shooting in the garden. The 357 is brilliant for the money, it is cheap (I paid just under £70) its a 10 shot mag although I bought more mags as its a hassle to reload all the time. Its got good power (50+ shots per powerlet) Its well made (plastic and metal), easy to use and clean. The best bit is its accuracy, I shoot both my guns at about 15-20... (read more)

I bought my Crosman 3576W Revolver about 6 months ago, as a cheap intro into CO2 pistol shooting at my club, service and police pistol disciplines. Straight away I was at a 'competent' level with the Crosman, this CO2 is accurate and reliable, I know it's plasticky, but it is cheap, so you'd expect this. I've just bought a Umarex Smith & Wesson 586 (357 copy) - which was 3 times as much as the Crosman! - whilst the Umarex feels heavy, realistic and is all metal, it wasn't as reliable as the... The frame, including the pistol grip frame is metal, the barrel is rifled metal, the mechanism including the trigger is metal, the moving parts are metal, the action, either double or single action is consistent, predicatable and solid. It's accurate and reliable. It's 'light' - Don't let the plastic put you off, this is a great CO2 revolver! I used a red-dot for a bit, but actually prefer the open sights in competition. The plastic parts are the pistol grips, and the barrel shroud. (As stated, the inner riffled barrel is metal) You won't be dissapointed! (If you're die hard 'gotta be all metal, full weight' then you'll complain if you buy this, but honestly, you're buying a CO2, not a 'real' gun so just enjoy what it is!)

Available new from £65 you can't go wrong with this - you get fully adjustable sights and a 10 shot magazine, 70 shots per capsule and surprising accuracy. The downside is it looks and feels plasticky(like most Crosmans) and the trigger pull is fairly long and fairly heavy in double action mode. I use mine for IPAS and it's just as capable as anything else, you can spend double the money on a Umarex and get 8 shots and non-adjustable sights. The accuracy is surprisingly good, single... i would recomend the crosman 3576w to any one. Its a great gun to start with, and even if you have been collecting for a while, like i have, its still a valuable addition to any collection. the plastic grips feel a bit shakey, but they clip off anyway. and besides thats only one of four sinthetic parts. the metal frame is all that maters anyway. to anyone thinking off buying it, you are making the rite choice. just read the insructions manual, and enjoy!!!! The Crosman 357 6" Revolver is overall excellent and for the price a incredibly great pistol. It is real enough to make someone think before they rob you. to show you that this thing has power. This pistol is extra heavy duty with quality. I don't mind taking some extra time and removing both grips to put the CO2 in than having a SUPER HIDEOUS CO2 Screw popping out. The Crosman 357 6" is for the most part a well designed pistol, but the loose tolerances or some inherent design flaw decreases the potential power. The barrel slides about 1/8" backward and forward in its housing, and the barrel end which mates with the pellet revolver is slightly angled and jagged, allowing some CO2 gas to escape that would otherwise add to the propellent force to the pellet. I can actually feel a puff of air from the side of the revolving unit when it is fired. That's... (read more)

After a bit of tuning to my Crosman 357 the barrel now mates closely to the pellet clip. Testing the 357 with the 6" barrel shows that compared to all the other CO2 pistols I have shot, this pistol has the most power by far. I would definitely recommend this pistol if you want enough power to take out small rodents at close range - I recommend using Crosman Pointed Hunting pellets, as these pellets seem to be the deepest penetrating when used in CO2 pistols.

You can get 40-50 good shots per C02 cartridge, more on a hot day. Most of the Crosman 3576W Revolver gun is aluminum, with an engineered plastic for the barrel shroud and grips. The gun is an almost 1:1 replica of the Colt Python. If you preload the rotary clips ($1.00 each from Crosman), you spend very little time reloading while shooting. It's a good thing ammo is so inexpensive, especially compared to gun powder cartridge for the Colt Python (about $1.00/50for pellets vs. $9.50/50 with... (read more)

The Crossman 3576W Revolver, a great gun- it's fun to have and fun to shoot with. Be prepared to spend some money on pellets, you can get carried away because of it being semiauto. I purchased a Gamo PT80 first. The trigger pull was so strong that it made it difficult to steady the gun when firing. I returned it and bought the Crossman 3576W. The trigger pull is light and allows for more accurate shooting.
After adjusting the sight, I went through a CO2 cartridge. After inserting a new one the shot pattern was quite close at 50 ft. I noticed that I had made the final adjustments on the sight when I should have been replacing the CO2 cartridge, so a minor...

I bought this Crossman 3576W Revolver gun for around $50 4 months ago. Since then I have fired around 2000 pellet out of the gun with no problems. The gun is relatively light and has a rail for a scope so you can accurately shoot from 50 feet. One problem I have is that the magazines are slow to reload. I like the fact that it is double or single action, so you can shoot fast, or accurately. Another thing that may be a problem is that it can be mistaken for a colt python .357, and gives the... I found mine, also, to be quite a fun little piece. Unfortunately, after about three thousand rounds it experienced a seal leak somewhere between the CO2 cartridge and the hammer valve. Crossman support was miserable, and I eventually retired the pistol as a lost cause. I have been tempted to purchase another, hoping they have solved the seal problems. Your good and bad points matched my opinions well, although I never considered the realistic look a failing.
Written on: 06/05/2006
put a drop of crosman pellgun oil on the tip of each co2 powerlet, that should cure your problem of leaking seals. only use pellgun oil, anything other than silicone oil will destroy the seals.
Written on: 08/05/2006
I tried that, but the problem seems to lie farther up the gas system than the neck seal, perhaps in the pulse valve itself, I have no way of being sure exactly. It's rather a shame, too, I liked that pistol.

20 weight "non detergent" motor oil will work fine for internal lube on co2 air guns. It must be non detergent as "detergent' has zinc in it.

The Crossman 357 Revolver air pistol is NOT a great gun. I feel former reviews have been far too praise filled for the following reasons:
A lot of plastic. I'm not kidding, I rarely see this much plastic on co2 pistols in this price range. It's also not very cheap for what it is...I think they run about $40-$45 depending on where you go. I personally HAD 2 of them that cost about $40. First thing I noticed, like all other co2 revolver types I've owned, it's not that powerful. You get...

If you are offended by plastic on an air pistol, why would you purchase two of them in the first place?
Written on: 18/04/2006
Hi there, not to sound mean here, but why buy 2 ? If the first one was so bad, , and the reason all co'2 guns "feel" weak is because there is no recoil or jump and clang that you feel with say a spring gun, Hence the impression of weakness, and why oh why would you even think of shooting a squirrell with it?? It is a pistol, all but a few of which are far too low in power to even consider hunting with, that poor squirrell, at least you could have shot it with something that would kill it instantly, not just empty a mag into it and watch it suffer, not cool, not cool at all!!
Written on: 06/05/2006
I agree, not cool, I wouldn't hunt squirrels with anything less than a .22 in the 800-1000 fps range. I know people kill with less, but it is not humane, shame on you.

I have owned a Crossman 357 6" since I was twelve (13yrs) and it is truly a fine pellet pistol. Although its power level is relatively low I used it for small game for years until I graduated to higher power .22 and .20 hunting pistols. With the right pellets its accuracy is quite good (2" at 20yds with Milbro Caledonian)
With the wrong pellets (Crosman wadcutters and pointed) it sucked (3" at 10yds). The power of a .177 at 450fps is not enough to take squirrels humanely although I have....

Unless you stored it with a charged CO2 cylinder installed (a bad idea with ANY CO2 gun), I think you may have just gotten a lemon. For the most part, these are better guns than most people think. I bought one fifteen years ago at the local K-Mart (this was when they still made them with the fake-wood plastic grips). I handed it down to a cousin of mine about 5 years ago, and it's still going strong: 15 years of steady use (and yes, regular cleaning & oiling) and nothing has ever broken or gone wrong with it.

I learned to shoot on this gun, and had it for years. Never had a problem with it. I maintained it very well too. It's not a hunting gun, although I think if you hit a squirrel in the head at 20 feet, it'd bring him down. I think you might have got a bad gun, or maybe stored it improperly.

Unfortunately, he is not alone in that problem. Mine also died of a bad seal, and I am an experienced air gun shooter and NEVER store an airgun pressurized.

<br>An interesting note, however. Mine was also the early version with the pseudo-wood grips. Perhaps since then they have corrected whatever failing caused the seal failures.

This is a great gun for someone who just wants to shoot without all of the complications of more powerful guns. This gun's design, rotate barrel down to load, is poor because without modification this gun can be difficult to make consistant. This design allows for the barrel to move independantly of the rest of the gun so accuracy is comprimised. I was able to fix this problem and after doing so the gun became a tack driver. I also recommend that the 8" barrel is purchased because this... (read more)

Vrs818....Absolutely! Guys in the Amazon jungle kill monkeys with blowpipes and some Australians kill birds and small game with boomerangs. Even LOOKS have been questioned!
Written on: 19/12/2012
But are't those Amazonians using darts smeared with toxins derived from local plants? Nerve agent poisoning is a particularly unpleasant death. Also, it bears considering that they are killing to eat, rather than for "sport."
Granted, there are animals, such as European Starlings and English "sparrows" which will nest on top or otherwise kill indigenous American birds, and for which a legitimate argument can be made to consider them pests. Even so, their lives are all that animals have. If you are going to kill them, please do it as quickly as reasonably possible. Also, keep in mind that when you kill a bird or mammal, you may be causing death by starvation to their immature offspring. The rat pups may not be much regretted by most, but the immature songbirds will be regretted by many.
The energy transfer required to kill even very small animals such as mice is about six foot-pounds. Even with the relatively long barrel of this air pistol, the muzzle energy of a .177 CO2 handgun using 12g cartridges is unlikely to exceed three foot-pounds. For detailed discussion in which twelve foot-pounds muzzle energy is recommended as minimum for hunting, see: Pyramydair Article on Airgun Hunting from April.
Some Amazonian gents may still not have access to technology less cruel than darts and nerve agents. We do. The same $50-$75 it takes to buy a CO2 powered "action pistol" can buy a refurbished Ruger Blackhawk or Crossman Phantom .177 spring piston air rifle with the inherent accuracy and power to deliver the energy transfer necessary to first round kills of small game. If hunting is part of your intended use, please think before you buy.

You can hunt with a rock, but if your talking about responsible mature hunting, always use enough gun. Humane hunting small game [rabbits, squirrels] with a airgun should be .20-.22 cal. in the 800-1000 fps. range, anything less is immature. Rats, mice, starlings and other small vermin can be dispatched cleanly in the 500-600 fps range, using .177 cal., anything with less power should only be used for target practice. I know there have been kills with Daisy Red Ryders, as a kid, I did it myself, but were talking here about humane.
