Good Points: Plays Mp3, VCD and Multi-region DVD formats (Hacks for multi-region and VCD are easy to find and input). Ease of use. Very quiet motor. Dolby digital 5.1 decoder on-board. Optical output. DTS output. Screen saver. Looks great.
Bad Points: My VHS tapes don't work on it. ;-) Have to hold down forward to fast forward. Always a bad idea.
General comments: Very good picture quality, and excellent sound quality. Also has plain old phono jacks to hook up to your amp for good quality CD playback.
What else is there to say; It plays all DVDs and VCDs. Does exactly what it says on the tin.
Did I mention it is a handsome machine?
