    The Darkness, I Believe in a Thing Called Love - This was a massive hit and with good reason. This is a tongue-in-cheek revival of 1980's hair metal complete with the band prancing about in spandex jumpsuits in a giant spaceship and battling aliens. Justin Hawkins does a fantastic falsetto, his screeching is brilliant and even though he has a perfect face for radio, he makes a wonderful post-modern rock star.

    This is simple rock music that doesn't take itself too seriously and is easy to enjoy.
