Good Points: Superlative lens, much more important than the mega pixel contest. Takes 9 different power sources, Li-ion gives the best performance. 8 modes, excellent features, easy to navigate menu and good level of manual control. Sturdy metal body. Zoom viewfinder. 2-stage Macro feature. Video with sound - not time limited to short clips like most cameras - with playback speaker. Voice memo recording.
Bad Points: Tiny screen (but viewfinder compensates). Not the fastest start-up of cameras in the class. Battery compartment cover for some reason flimsier than the rest of the camera
General comments: I have never had a picture failure with this camera, unless it was my own fault. It might only be 4 MP, but used to it's full potential, the Schnieder Kreuznach lens will deliver pro-like results that can be enlarged to A3 and probably above. For 3 years the DV4 has been with me on holiday, to all manner of social events, battered and bruised and it still works great!
The best power source in my experience is a CRV3 Lithium Ion rechargeable battery.
It may be a little long in the tooth at the time of writing, but I have no intention of replacing it until I am forced to.

The Samsung Digimax V4 takes great pictures. The lens system is sharp and the exposure choices allow you to set up for any condition. However it takes forever to charge up, and store a picture. It drains NiMH 2100 batteries very quickly.

Can not fault photo quality on the Samsung Digimax V4. Night shots with long exposure are a treat, just plonk it on a wall and let it take the photo in auto. Best not to drink too much Ouzo or Rak . I look foreward to the V5??!!. Am off to Turkey in September so may well report about that excursion.

Overall, I think this is a really good camera. And that is after 1 months picture taking of everything that moves and many things that don't.

Having upgraded from a Fuji 2.1 Megapixel camera I found the improvement in resolution to be phenomenal. Thought the photos were a bit dark at first but then I read the instruction book and you really do need to. Strong sunlight as backlight can make the foreground look very drab. Spot focusing makes a difference. To a Professional this may seem obvious but it wasn't to me. Now I understand what makes it tick, the piccys are great. However, do convert the jpg. files to tif images before you st ...
