Good Points: Real suspense and terror! Good Performances From Both lead actors Great Story with twists and surprises along the way Not very expensive A great classic form Steven King
Bad Points: A particular point in the film is not for the squeamish! That's about it really!
General comments: Misery is one of those films that you will remember a long time after it's finished. Well played out, great pacing and direction, it simply needs to be seen! The story follows a popular writer(James Caan) who has an accident while driving to his usual hotel where he writes his novels. Thankfully he is saved by a really big fan (Kathy Bates) of his "I'm your biggest fan" she repeatedly reports. But things take a turn for the worse when his condition begins to improve and she doesn't want him to leave, and she will do anything (literally) to keep him there! At times very uncomfortable to watch, Kathy's character becomes more and more twisted and insane, what ensues is a battle of wits and willpower for survival with dramatic results! A film for fans of horror and suspense alike, particularly if you enjoy Hitchcock's films, as this has a very similar feel.
