Dog Soldiers is a hidden gem of a movie in the horror/werewolf genre. If you watch it and you're not expecting a blockbuster movie, then you won't be disappointed. Of course, you have to like horror/werewolf movies to start with.

While this film won't win any awards for plot originality, the writer/director not only knows and loves the genre but he knows how to invite the audience to share in it.
The performances are solid all around but Sean Pertwee is outstanding as the gruff but pragmatic sergeant. There are numerous "homage" moments in the film to earlier greats like "Jaws", "Alien", "The Howling", etc. but at no time does it degenerate to outright theft.
Well worth a rental if you like scary movies. This fil ...

On a routine training mission, a squad of soldiers get caught in a vicious and deadly feeding rampage, courtesy of ravenous werewolves. Although the plot is awful and the film is simple,it pays off. Some excellent set pieces and action hide shallow characters, but you'll be too busy marvelling at the guerilla techniques and banging action to notice.

THE COMEDY I FIND BEST IS THE PART WHERE SGT. WELLS GUTS COME OUT AND HE SAYS SAUSAGES THE MOST THRILLING PART I FIND IN THE FILM IS WHEN COOPER FIGHTS RYAN IN THE BASEMENT AND THE TEAM'S MILITARY ACTIONS ARE SO REALISTIC THIS FILM IS SO NEAR TO REAL AND I WOULD RECOMMEND A PURCHASE
