A housebound man takes to spying on his neighbours to help alleviate boredom while he recovers from a badly broken leg but becomes increasingly more obsessed when he believes he has witnessed a vicious murder in the building opposite. The film follows James Stewart's character as he takes it upon himself to uncover the truth about what has happened and as he tries to convince his partner of what he has seen.
As is typical with Alfred Hitchcock films the tension continues to build until the final scenes and leads to some genuinely gripping, edge of the seat moments. There is also a newer version of this film available starring Christopher Reeves but I believe the 1954 original is the superior version and if you haven't seen it already I would definitely recommend it - a must for all thriller fans.
