      Good Points: It relates extremely well to the hardships of modern life in the worst places possible.


      Bad Points: You have to have subtitles. It's a Brazilian film. Also, some of the things that take place in the film aren't the nicest things to watch. Because of that, I think it is not a film that suits being watched over and over again.


      General comments: This film is about the slums of Rio in Brazil. It is brilliantly made, and you will not forget it. It concentrates on a boy called Rocket growing up in "the city of god." Then as it goes on, it sort of turns to the story of Rocket's enemy called Lil' Ze, taking over all of the drug dealers and ending with an all out war to overthrow the last gang. It is very realistic, showing the corruption of the police, such as letting criminals free for money.

City of God delivers, exceeds and stretches the mind in new directions.
