Twice in the last month I have purchased items from Habitat only to be told two weeks after purchase that they don't have the item. They offer little to fix the issue and prove that they continue to falsely advertise their products to get custom but not to fulfil their promise as a retailer. Leaving customers waiting such a long time when they are trying to furnish a home, which as we all know is a very stressful task, is disgraceful and shows little respect for their customers. “Terrible customer service, still waiting for our...”

We ordered all our furniture in July 2015, expecting all pieces to be delivered at the end of September when we moved in to our new home with our newborn baby. Unfortunately, this did not happen. There was a big delay and we ended up sleeping on the floor. The delivery was arranged for mid October but to our disappointment not all the pieces arrived. “Really need to sort themselves out”

Habitat management really need to sort this company out. We place an order in September for a number of items. These have been arriving randomly with no email or text confirmation of deliveries. Communication is appalling. We have now received two of an item we only ordered one of, and we are missing a cushion which the system says we have had. Faulty damaged unusable large item is sitting in a small sitting room risking to fall on children. The Ludo library cupboard is 2mt40cm high, it arrived in an intact box however once we opened the box we realised the cupboard had been squashed. “Perouse furniture a waste of money”

I bought a set of Perouse bedroom furniture. The latches don't work particularly well and sometimes the furniture is hard to open. The white lacquer on one of the bedside set of drawers has come apart from the mdf and one of the doors on the wardrobe fell off bringing some of the mdf with it - the weight of the doors appears to be too much for the mdf in the shell of the wardrobe. “Beware...still no sofa after 3months and another month...”

I ordered the Hendricks 3 seater sofa and side chair on 9th Jan with estimated delivery of 10 weeks-13/03/15. This was then pushed back to 30/03/15, and again to 18/04/15. Was called on Friday past to say delayed again to 21/05/15 two months late. I will be cancelling the order- not wasting my time on them. On 5 Jan I ordered two bath towells and a picture frame. About two weeks later I was sent three wooden trays. Somebody obviously had a complete brain fart and sent me completely the wrong items. I called Habitat and told them what had happened. They arranged for the incorrect items to be collected and re-ordered the correct items for me. Supposedly. I ordered a plant pot which was described as blue. When it arrived the colour was more a green/turquoise than blue. The packing was poor, and it was pure luck that it arrived in one piece. The parcel took six days to arrive and there was no tracking. When other companies offer next day delivery as standard I don't think this is good enough. Very poor communication, exorbitant delivery charges and long delivery lead times. We ordered several rugs and other items and it has taken more that 20 days to deliver. There has been no acknowledgement of my written complaints and comments. Customer services are full of excuses and don't resolve problems. I ordered two tatsuma cabinets arrived 23 august. The drawers were missing the backs? I the had to wait a until 5 th August for the replacement. When they arrived there was a box with almost a a full set of pieces for the drawers all except the backs AGAIN!! I know have to wait until 18 th another two weeks to get the backs!! I ordered £250 worth of stuff from habitat online on 16 August. The stuff is fine - I'd bought some of their frames before. My one star "Terrible" is exactly right for what happened next. On the 20th the delivery company left the three very large boxes on my front porch, in full view of the road and passersby. I purchased a mirror from habitat, only to find it smashed when i got home. Returned it back to the kings road store, London. Staff replaced it and informed me that there four other mirrors in the same range which were also smashed. I was please that they told me this as I was reassured that it was not me who smashed it on the way home. Avoid at any cost Owned by Home Retail Group (Argos / Homebase). I suspect the skillbase is therefore high volume / low value goods. It is not kitchens. I would avoid Habitat like the plague. We removed our kitchen on the basis they would start work on a Monday. They called on Friday afternoon to say there would be a 6.5 week delay. Awful customer service. The team have clearly not been trained in how to deal with customers and how to find resolutions (even though the customer service team are called the resolution team)... Please please only order from Habitat if you are happy to wait ages for your product, if you are happy to chase them when they promise to call and if you are happy to not have your issues resolved!
