I have had the worst experience in my life with Habitat Nottingham.
My own store closed following a purchase of cutlery - Katja which developed on 4 knives a series of rusty stains. Whilst they claim this cutlery to be 'dishwasher safe.'IT CERTAINLY IS NOT AND HAS TO BE WASHED BY HAND TO keep it looking anything like decent. Why do they advertise dishwasher safe if it isnt? Don't ask them for a refund without your cash receipt. British law states that a retailer CANNOT DEMAND A CASH RECEIPT FOR FAULTY GOODS. Somebody should tell Habitat owned for past 16 years by Swedish rubbish company IKEA brand. Had I known that I would never have bought from them in the first place.

I have signed up twice to a registration system designed to notify me when the crockery I purchased was about to be discontinued. Twice, the system has failed and I have been left with no alternative but to phone other stores or pay for multiple postage to get the replacements I need from stores all around the country. Habitat has no customer service number on their website and when I emailed them to complain about the issue I recieved no apology and no alternative to the above. I would not buy ...

I have had such bad service from habitat that I will not shop there again even though I love my furniture.

I've recently been looking online for furniture and came accross habitat online. While it looks atractive and informative, I found it impossible to buy from.

    Is this a store?

I live in Australia and have seen various items sold at Habitat UK. I have contacted a couple of Habitat stores on several occasions (Why doesn't there seem to be a Head Office or general enquiry email?) but have never received any kind of acknowledgement yet, let alone an actual answer to my question. I wanted to make several definite sales but I feel as though no one can be bothered to help me. I would be happy to pay extra for packing and posting, but it helps if someone will get back to me. ...

I am very disappointed with the Utah sofa, pillows are falling apart and feathers are everywhere, only six months old. Have tried to contact Habitat on more than one occasion but have received no feedback yet.

Absolutely bad customer service! My experience in-store correlates with the online experience. Wanted to buy an item in their Richmond (UK) outlet. Although this product was on display and (according to their database) in stock, the shop assistant couldn't find it. She was not willing to search for items in their storage room as "shop was too busy". I'm expected to return once the item has been found! So basically she was too busy and/ or lazy to make a sale! I'm asking to make a sale but this i ...

Agreed this is a wholly dissatisfying experience. In my opinion it is virtually no use really as you need to go to the shop to get the product but without being able to find out if the product is in stock. I feel it is effectively like walking past a closed Habitat shop and looking in the window.

Habitat has nice overall merchandise at reasonable prices but it's a terrible website, fussy and basically unreadable. Please improve!

The Habitat website is difficult to use. It might look flash, but it is clumsily designed with little usability. Go and get a catalogue; it's far easier, or visit the shop, because you can't buy anything online anyway!!

Fails to mention that you can't actually buy anything online, useless therefore if you do not happen to have a branch of Habitat near you. A bit like waving something nice under your nose and then saying "Ha, but you can't buy it" . . .

This is easily the best web site I have ever visited, the design is brilliantly creative and totaly unique. Go there just to witness its genius!
