Romeo And Juliet is a good film. mostly sticks to script although there are some changes. recommend to everyone - especially shakespeare lovers and anyone who wants to watch a very emotionally poignant film. Loved it all! Only bad point was wasn't entirely to script - juliet wakes up after romeo dies but not in the film, and there's no fight between romeo and paris - what's that about?!?!

Romeo And Juliet, it's about love -- of the teenage, on-first- sight, suicidal, mad variety, the kind that gets two kids wildly infatuated at a costume party, that gets them in big trouble with the folks and with the law, that drives them to, like, deadly ends. As such, Shakespeare's "Romeo & Juliet" is the stuff rock'n'roll dreams are made on (viz. that Dire Straits song), and more than any other classic text this tale is ripe for the fast- cut, guns-blazing, MTV treatment.

Romeo and Juliet is a tragic but beautiful and very moving love story by Shakespeare staring Olivia Hussey in a tale of two star-crossed lovers. The atmosphere created by the setting, camera work and costumes was perfect and I didn't want the two and a quarter hour film to end. This is definitely one of Zefirelli's masterpieces and his decision to use a young cast paid off, a classic film and shouldn't be missed.- Read Rocksteady's review (76 words)
