Good Points: - First class film and score - Should not be missed at £4-5 a copy
Bad Points: - DVD version adult content edited out
General comments: The Killing Of Sister George is a truly great film, but for those who wish to see the 'extended steamy' lesbian scene - be aware the DVD 'The Film Collection' version has most of this edited out. When the movie was first shown on British TV (early 70's) the whole scene was shown. Now 30 years on, despite having an 18 certificate and films such as 'Baise Moi' which contain full 'adult content' on the shelf, someone somewhere has decided that the scene was 'too much'. I am not particularly bothered about not having the scene (though it was quite a memorable one) but feeling that someone had hacked the film presumably to protect some sensibility or other made me quite angry and detracted immensely from what otherwise would have been a first class view.
