I sold my 94 zx9r to buy this blue and white missile ! It feels like I'd imagine a fa18 to feel like in acceleration ! I didn't believe that in eight years bikes couldn't improved dramatically compared the the old Kawasaki! The zx9r was an awesome machine too , but in another league entirely! The zx9r kicked you in the pants at 8-9000 rpm and gee it kicked hard! Through the rest of the revs it was quite tame though. I Dont know if it's the efi or the cam differences or just the age... The K2 GSXR 1000 is a beautiful motorbike . Whilst I also own a TRX 850 (also beautiful) , the difference is as chalk is to cheese. To date I havn't ridden anyhing to compare it to. With the yoshi pipe , power commander , modded rear tail peice with a hugger , inset indicators , it got the looks and the get up and go. There's rarely a time I go out on the thing and not go over 200 260 kph. And she's still got plenty to go.
One thing I like about the K2 is that the fairing has this wide...

Gorgeous machine that needs a few tweaks to sing. Anyone who has one or will be purchasing one needs to do two cheap, but priceless mods.
1st: remove the SET valve to get rid of sticky mechanisms and open up the exhaust
2nd: Get a throttle retard elminator to cure low RPM jerkiness and let the engine breathe.
Once these 2 mods are done, the K3 1000 floats like a feather and stings like a bee. The engine is the heart of this bike, with so much torque available throughout the rev range....

If you compare this bike with any other bike in its class you are splitting hairs unless you are a pro rider and at this point all sportsbikes have their pros and cons. The GSXR has a very reputable track record that speaks for itself. You can always look on the good ol world wide web to look up these stats. I am not taking anything away from any other bikes out there but this is pound for pound my favorite and I have been on a vast selection of bikes. I AM NOT A PRO RIDER THOUGH! It also... (read more)

Stable handling, smooth power, nice ergos. Fun Fun Fun!
Bikes don't seem to have come as far as I thought they have after riding a demo zx10r 2009 model. The zx10r 2009 is definitely a better bike than the k3 in all ways, except I still wouldn't upgrade to one just for that reason.
Suzuki GSXR 1000 is an awesome bike! Had it for 3 years (bought it mid 2006), and still loving it.

Bought a Suzuki 1000K6, have worked in the bike trade for 7 years and ridden most bikes. My Hayabusa got written off, so I went back to sports bikes. I knew I always got off of K5/6s witha smile, so I bought one. Not a moments regret, very quick, light, nimble and very stable - it's even pretty comfortable, a little tight on leg room, but that's not what I bought it for
It's over-kill for the road with sticky tyres, but hell it's good !
You have to keep youself in check a bit and have fun...

I picked myself up a K2 GSXR 1000 last week after some numpty's decided they like my bandit 600 so much they would keep it. Holy crap Im blown away by the looks, power, comfort, coolness etc of the GSXR. It was raining out the night I got it and I was a little nervous of the back sliding out in the wet, not at all, silly me. The bike was stuck to the road.

Having ridden sports for in my collection for 30 years I was lucky enough to move to the Isle of Man where it is possible to use the performance of todays sports bikes. I decided I was pushing my current ride too hard and a true sportster was needed, I tried all the top bikes in one day and for me the Suzuki GSXR 1000 was the tool. This bike is a total missile just point and hang on. I have a k6 1000, for my angry blood thirsty adrenaline crazy days (still having them at 43yrs old. Guess I will never grow up. But for my normal cool Sunday squirt I have an Aprilia Tuono factory. Equally as crazy but tend to cruise at around 60 mph less. Than on the gixer. The Suzuki GSXR is a very easy bike to ride fast and thats what its made for. It doesn't handle as sharp or as forgiving as a GSXR750 but its far less effort to go fast on. Suzuki used to take technology from the 750 and then put it on the 1000. From 2003 they reversed that, the tech on the 2003 GSX-R 1000 is put on the 750 in 2004.
Easy to control on low speeds... but an absolute MONSTER when you decide to open up the throttle from any gear. When your in sixth gear it feels like you're in fourth, never have been higher then 5000 rpm (have it for two months) but it seems to be all I could use (legally) on the road.

Its my first second Suzuki and not a model I would have gone looking for, but as it came along at a reasonable price it was bought.
I've got to say its got plenty of poke in any gear - more than is usable in most circumstances really. The handling is very good - better even than my 98 Blade which I always thought was excellent anyway. And its light - not that it looks it - but it is.

This Suzuki K6 Gixer is taken to the limiter in 4th 5th and 6th on roads, twisty, sometimes bumpy roads not a straight Autobahn or a dead pan smooth short circuit. This is a road bike and there is only one road in the world you can legally take this bike to the limit. 170mph+ across a mountain passing blades, R1s and bike engined lotus 7s. If you are under 35 or just a speed freak then this your machine! After a 15 year break from biking, at 44 decided to get back into it so started on a CBR 600 f but six months on, decided I wanted to play with the big boys. So off I went and the next thing I have got a GXSR 1000 K7 in the drive! Now I can't fault the bike - engine, gearbox, handling etc. The finish isn't quite as good as the Honda but sort of expected that. The big difference is the speed factor!
