Good Points: Moving and realistic story line that is well acted by principal actors. The filming of East Berlin and Prague with hand held vidcam in mid 1980's really captures the feeling of those cities during that period.
Bad Points: Subtitles were poor...difficult to read. Perhaps the story line needed strengthening at the beginning. I watched it for 5 minutes...turned it off and was about to return it...gave it another go and after 15 minutes was quite gripped by it.
General comments: Westler is a very nice haunting story of the relationship between two men either side of the Berlin wall in the mid 1980's. Much of the background film was made using hand held vidcam and really captures what (East) Berlin and Prague looked like prior to the collapse of communisim so now has historical value.
Well worth watching.
