Good Points: Witty, original and yet almost a perfect synopsis for all that is good in French cinema. Maybe the best French film since Cyrano De Bergerac.
Bad Points: None.
General comments: OK! Maybe I'm singing the praises of this film a little too loudly. However, it is important that compensation is made for the previous review, which despite being worded beautifully; lacked any insight. Amelie is a light hearted film. For all those who want a more dramatic ending, go and and watch a Jacobean revenge tragedy and cry yourself to sleep.

While being on the surface a light-hearted and charming film, Amelie will also evoke very powerful emotions for anybody who has ever found themselves socially isolated within society. There are only a few things wrong with this otherwise remarkable film - firstly, its lengthy duration, which is the result of poor editing - there are too many story threads that are extraneous to the overall plot.
