'Please wait' errors??
General comments: I've had the Samsung S300 for nearly 2 years and I have loved every second of it! However there is one major thing that is making me buy a new phone, every now and again I turn my phone on and it tells me to 'please wait' whilst searching for my network and the phone never actually is then workable, it just keeps searching and telling me to 'please wait'...I have to leave the phone for a day and play around with the battery and sim card and then it might work. I've spoken to Samsung and repairmen and they said they don't even know whats wrong with it...very strange.
Apart from that! I really really love this phone and I'm sad I have to upgrade and get a new one because I liked how easy it was to use and the look, the lightweightedness and the overall aesthetics of the phone are awesome.

As far as I'm concerned it's the best phone I've ever had the honour of buying !! The Samsung S300 is just great ! I've had Nokias, Panasonics and I just had to go back to my Samsung S300 cos its just fantastic! The keys are great and I never had any problems with the signal, writing texts, wap, anything !!- Read Kirsteh20's review (69 words)

The only reason really for getting a Samsung S300 phone was because I've always had old-style phones and I decided I would like a brand-new up-to-date phone. However, this is the worst phone I've ever had!!!The battery now lasts approx. 1 day(I use about 10 texts a day, hardly use it for calls and don't play games or internet). Also, it seems if you open the phone too quickly or receive a text when you're already reading one, the new message disappears!!! How annoying. When I first got the phone ...- Read leilac50's review (200 words)

This Samsung S300 mobile phone is amazing. The quality of the colour screen is excellent. The keypad is stylish, lighting up and electric blue and it is comfortable to send texts. The reception is quite good, but i think that depends on the network.
The service light on the front (flashing light above the external display) lights up a variety of colours, which you can choose from.
I really like the way the external display turns into a mirror, when not lit.
The games are ok and there is on ...- Read stes300's review (403 words)

I have had my Samsung S300 mobile phone for about 1 month now and I am not very pleased with it.
This was my first venture away from a Nokia phone and one I am sorry I made.
To start with, I text a lot. More than my wife would like according to her comments on my last bill! Also, I never used the predictive text until now...
Writing a text on the S300 is a pain in the butt. If you write words like "boom" or "look" that require you to move the cursor forward before you can enter the seco ...- Read Silky's review (622 words and 13 comments)

After 1 month of owning this Samsung S300 mobile phone, I have concluded that it is the worst phone I've ever used! Whenever you recieve a text message the phone alerts you every thirty seconds until the text is read!!...this is such a pain when you recieve a text in the middle of the night!
The texting features on this phone are prehistoric! How Samsung let this phone out with such appauling T9 predictive text and no dictionary - the phone insists on writing in capitals as default every time! ...- Read dezire's review (143 words and 1 comment)

I think overall that this Samsung S300 will be a good mobile phone for me to get even though I am only 14 I am responsible and it has enough things to keep me busy, I don't like the ringtone quality and the non interchangeable fascias, or downloable games, I need those things to keep me fond of my mobile, but this mobile lacks in most areas. it's okay, it's good, phonebook can keep up to 200 numbers which is good for me, it's small and light, compact, but not too compact, easy to use! e. t. c... ...- Read tumijegede's review (134 words)

This was my first venture away from Nokia, so I wasn't too sure what to expect.
Overall a good phone, but let down for me by the lack of options & customisation I was used to with a Nokia such as selective alerts.
I also found that the reception was not as good as with my previous Nokias (possibly due in part to me replacing the unsightly supplied ariel with a stubby one).
I also found the textind a chore - it will insist on defaulting to capitals in the predictive text mode, as opposed to ...- Read Samsy's review (193 words)

I have had this Samsung S300 mobile phone for 3 days now, and ran many tests on it, including reception, user friendlyness, ergonomics and so on.
This phone is amazingly designed. If you favor clam shell design, this is top notch. It is very small and light, fits easy into any size pocket and can be operated single handedly. Also, since there's an external screen theres no need to open the phone to see who's calling. The polyphonic rings are of high quality, although some more regular "ring ri ...- Read yarivgol's review (223 words)

Hi I am Ranjeet R. Pillai from Faridabad, India & I bought my Samsung S300 on 11 Oct and am pretty happy with it. The phone is very small & looks very good. The ringtones are ok, but if compared with Nokia 6610 ringtones, it does lag behind. I would have liked the clock on the front screen to stay but it goes off when the phone is not in use.
But still good value for your money. Just switch it on at night and then enjoy!!!- Read ranjeetrpillai's review (148 words)

I have just got the samsung S300 im very pleased with it, but after having Nokias for several years i find texting a very long procedure, (i txt alot) the size of the phone was very appealing, i did fancy the v200 but it was very bulky.
The colour screen is very good compared to lots i looked at and it is a very user friendly mobile.
The ringtone and message alert is very quiet and find i have lots of missed calls.
Apart from that i am very pleased indeed- Read xenalane's review (129 words)

I've had the Samsung S300 mobile phone for a few days now, and decided upon it after reading many reviews!
Overall I am very happy with the phone, after a string of Nokia's (3210, 8210, 3330, 6510)!! It made a welcomed change, this time opting for a samsung.
I find texting an absolute nightmare from this phone, took me ages to figure out how to get a comma! But hopefully after a little while longer I shall be used to this!
A radio would have been great... but then again am I asking for ...- Read vandana's review (212 words)

Had my Samsung S300 Mobile Phone for about two weeks now. I'm impressed with the stylish design and the small size of the phone. However, there are a few gripes. When you want to write an SMS using the predictive text facility it automatically defaults to capital letters. There is no dictionary to store extra words in like with the Nokias. You find yourself typing a lot of words in manually time after time. Also, the ring volume isn't very high, I have many missed calls that i simply havent h ...- Read Jane's review (266 words and 1 comment)

I wanted to have just a plain simple small mobile phone with a good colour screen and some style.
Didn't care about a camera and the radio, so went for the Samsung S300 mobile phone.
AND I AM HAPPY !
I wanted to keep extra luxuries like camera and radio away from what really a mobile phone means.
For camera, I have a digital one and I don't care about radio since I have a nice small mp3 player.
However if you want your mobile to do everything like camera, radio etc, then this is not the ...- Read maheshgogate's review (196 words)

I just bought my Samsung S300. I was especially interested in the GPRS feature which would allow downloads/uploads to my computer/internet. But i just can't get it to work. my laptop has only USB ports. I got a USB/serial converter but still to no avail. Somehow Windows XP would not allow a complete installation of software. ANYONE OUT THERE KNOWS HOW TO FIX THIS?

Just received my Samsung S300 today and am very pleased with it. The phone is very small but looks very good. Still can't figure how the voice memo works, can't see it on the phone but features on this site say its there!!! Always owned Nokia's but thought I would give the Samsung a try and let me tell you, I was not dissappointed and will be buying Samsungs in the future. The phone is near perfect ringtones are excellent. The only thing I would change is the clock goes off on the front scre ...- Read Char's review (107 words)

I have found this phone a joy to use with a nice screen. I have only one gripe, that is when you start to write a text it automatically defaults to predictive text which is very annoying as i have to change this before beginning to type. I have looked in the manual to try and solve this problem to no avail. Anyone out there any ideas????- Read andy's review (102 words)

Hi. Had this phone now for 2 weeks and I must say 'Goodbye to Nokia'. This Samsung is a little gem. Small, light, nice ringtones, and lots of features. The reception is also very clear. Yes I agree, that the ring is a bit loud at times but no phone is perfect. It has 4 soft keys which you can set up to suit your needs, like I have calendar, text, alarm and calculater on mine making it easy to get to with the press of one button. The outside display anoyed me at first as it goes completely blank ...- Read Aberdeen37's review (221 words)
