Good Points: Really well done, honest and very erotic. It's the frankness of the dialogue that catches a lot of people off-guard, especially when Ruffalo tells Ryan what he intends to do to her during their first date - and the sex scenes that follow are just as gutsy. Jane Campion's movie is an erotic whodunit that excited comment with a graphic erotic scene early in the film (rumoured to have been performed for real), and Meg Ryan's decision to shed her clothes in her forties.
