Good Points: Great visual scenes. Dante's Peak is worth being seen just for the spectacular volcano eruption scenes. Cool characters with Pierce Brosnan playing the main character. Really keeps you on edge of your seat because there are characters you dont want to die. Cool film, go see it!

Bad Points: The technology is obviously dated but I don't think it really spoils the film. The storyline is nothing amazing but it does involve suspense and so on.

General comments: This is one of the best disaster films I have actually seen, not that there are many out there. It has some of the best special effects of its day (almost 10 years ago now). This film is all about a volcano erupting and killing people really, which is entertaining but nothing worth going mad about, it just destroys a small town below it. Some of the scenes were just jaw-dropping though which makes you have to go and see it, at least for the first-time viewer, there is suspense throughout and it really involves you making you want the characters to survive. It might not be the most intelligent film, but it's a very entertaining 109 minutes so it's not too long to be entertained for. If this was a long film it really would drag and not be as good as it is. Go see it and make up your own mind.
