Good Points: Mindblowing......I love it and can say you love it too......
I 'm gonna write many things in "bad points" section but believe me.....you excuse them when you play with this phone....
    except 1 thing BATTERY BACKUP......

    Love to pick up.....
want to show people..that I'm having a different phone...(In India hardly people know about this phone).

    Jogger makes you CRAZY....
    Plus point.....--
I am sure you can't get it in basic phone....in fact not in COSTLY phones...
    Answer machine......
You can make your own phone as VOICE MAIL machine.......
    Thanks SONY!!!!
And thanks to my bro....who gave it me....

    Bad Points: BATTERY 1hr.20min.-1hr.24min

    Ringtone can't download.
    Single game.
    No GPRS

General comments: If you have this phone before you throw ,just sell it to me ...
    I'm ready to buy it......

    I love this......

I have used the Sony CMD-Z5 mobile phone for more than 6 years. It is very tough, and I dropped it many times, but there is still nothing broken. I love the rolling button on the left upper side, as it is very comfortable and helps a lot with the menus. Soft and pleasant to touch keys => easy to write messages. I can talk for hours about its good sides, and briefly I would say that this phone, as a whole, is one of the best phones ever made.

The Sony CMDZ5 is a really light and small phone. Some problems with dust in the menu "rounded" button causing malfunction. Sometimes I hear "eco" (not sure if it's because of the network or the phone).

I hold no grudges...but I wouldn't recommend this phone. Firstly the keys sometimes do not respond, and when you press harder they respond times 5! The aerial sticks out and ruins the whole 'small, light and compact' look and feel i.e aerial pokes you when in your pocket! No downloadable ringtones (not polyphonic but i dont like poly anyway!) This phone is built as a phone: receive and make calls only. but in this day and age people want to TEXT and play around with games (which are naff in this ...

The sony Z5 is a brilliant small and light weight mobile phone. Full of features including voice memo, built in answer machine, suburb games which keep anyone amused for hours, excellent battery life and a beautiful looking handset.Really this phone was before its time also with a very easy to use scroll button on the side.

I am using CMD Z5 happyly since last 2 years. It's feature packed and seemed ahead of it's time when it was introduced. However, only thing it doesn't have is infrared/bluetooth and voice-dialling. The antenna should not be there for better looks.

A good looking modern phone which is the best phone I have yet used and the browser is a good multifunctioning time saving tool BUT why make it unreliable with that pathetic battery?

Easy menu acces, the possibility to add more than just phonenumbers to one contact (eg fax, url, birthday, e-mail), beautifully designed phone. I have only updated to a Nokia 6310i because my CMD-Z5 was missing the following: infrared, voicedialing and the inability to manage the phone via computer. I now use it as a backup phone and simply whenever I want to show of with it ;-)

The Sony CMD-Z5 mobile phone has nearly got the speed of Nokia and the Features of Ericssson. I am upgrading to the Z7 - Battery needs to be worked on.

All in all has al lot of features without being a great big brick. Accesories are a bit expensive and limited - But the Z5 is still a sexy all rounder.

The first Sony CMD Z5 mobile phone I had resulted in a lot of conversations with people who kept saying 'pardon?'. The sound was distorted at their end (though I could hear them clearly). So I got another one. Now whoever I talk to can hear their own voice echo - it's about a 1 second delay. Dodgy microphone, perhaps? Twice??

The 'jog dial' - what is the point of a device that requires two hands to operate? It's a real pain.

Texting - write a text message and hit 'send'. OK, what's yo ...

The sony CMD-Z5 mobile phone is good if you need to take it with you as it fits neatly into the pocket of most conventional trousers. However because of the flip open flap, it sometimes gets stuck in said pocket. Altogether a very mobile phone.

The Sony CMD-Z5 mobile phone is an excellent design, the coated cover means it always looks great. Easy to use in single handed operation, the Jog wheel is a fantastic piece of engineering - rotate, switches by push in, forwards and backwards, incredible.
The menu is easy to understand and even though as a very early version when I purchased it the manual was not in English at all, I had no problems setting it up.

When the Sony CMD-Z5 mobile phone is new it's awesome looking, nicest phone by far and puts those arrogant 8210's in their place! But this phone is not durable. In fact it's fragile. The paint on my z5 has worn off after 6 months of owning the phone! Also the paint has scratched off where it touches the surface of a table for example and when it vibrates it wore the paint off!

I've had my Sony CMD z5 mobile phone for over 1 and a half years now, no complaints, even after dropping it onto a hard floor several times. Never freezes, although it is scratched. Overrall, it's a perfect phone, would recommend it to anyone whose looking for a 'different' phone. I'd now like to upgrade to z7, i'll tell you later about it.

This Sony CMD Z5 mobile phone is very stylish and a nice break away from the tradition shape of nokias and ericssons. I love the fact it is so small and light at 82g. It sits in my pocket and it is easy to forget it's there. You get the reliability of knowing it is manufactured by the guys at SONY. The large screen is excellent and the scrolling 3D menus are great. The jog dial speeds things up. Build quality is excellent and the flip is not flimsy as it is spring loaded and actually very durabl ...

The Sony CMD-Z5 is a very stylish phone. It's small, light and easy to use, but sometimes I can't hear the caller very well, and once the microphone got muted. I've had very short battery life (two days) so overall a bit disappointed with this phone.

After being the proud owner of the Nokia 8210 which although was a lovely phone to look at was totally unreliable I upgraded to a Sony CMD Z5 phone for an upgrade price of £30.00. I have found this phone to be very reliable but overloaded with features that I will never use. The E-Mail is difficult beyond belief to set up, the Internet the same.
After also having had some cracking downloaded tunes on the Nokia the ringtone composer on the Sony is rubbish- you spend 10 mins programming t ...
