Kill Bill, Volume 1 - All I can say is: WOW! This is the fourth film by superb writer/director Quentin Tarantino, and this is probably his most advanced film out of the oldies like Pulp Fiction or Reservoir Dogs. Uma Thurman goes a little bit over the top in her quest for revenge, but she's still fantastic. Lucy Liu is a deadly villian - surprising for someone whose roles previously included sweet little clever girl in Charlie's Angels, etc. In the first volume, Daryl Hannah is very brief, but she's still a deadly, dangerous blonde who appears more brutally in volume two. And Vivica Fox is great as the stay at home mum, though her actions are brief as well.
The storyline is about The Bride (Uma Thurman) - who's name isn't revealed until vol. 2. She used to work as an assassin with O-Ren Ishii (Lucy Liu), Vernita Green (Vivica C Fox) and three siblings; Bill (oldest), Budd and Elle (youngest). But one day, when The Bride decides to leave their group, start off in a new, unkilling life in a recording studio with a new man, they decide to break in there and shoot her down. And she's pregnant. With Bill's baby. And she gets shot in the head.
Four years later she emerges from her coma. Her baby is gone: dead? She's now on a bloody vengeance to kill all who betrayed her, leading up to the ultimate confrontation with Bill!
This movie is awesome; recommended for anyone. Rated R for strong, bloody violence, endless action, some coarse language, brief animated drug use and some sexual references. All in all, however, this movie isn't bad for kids. It won't have much of an impact on them, except for some scenes that may gross them out; particularly the explicitness of a ripped out tongue, a blood fountain when a head is chopped off, and a pickaxe being cut through the back of someone's ankle, the pointed part reoccuring through the front.
Strongly recommended for all you action lovers out there!

I decided to watch Kill Bill Volume 1 from the hype it was given. I was slightly reluctant to do so, as I have always been led to believe hype just lets you down in the end. This is one of those times I was pleasantly suprised. I distinctly remember the Kill Bill trailer on television, and the catchy *dum de dum* tune that seemed to stick inside my head. Everybody seemed to be aware of this film but me, and the way people were talking about it was as if any other films currently in the box offi ...- Read Lord Lordy's review (679 words)

Kill Bill, Volume 1 - Kill Bill is a fantastic movie by Quentin Tarantino. The storyline is about a female lady (Uma Thurman) who once worked with many others for a man named Bill. But when they decide to betray her, and she finds herself shot in the head after she is about to marry a man, but is having Bill's baby, she is put into a coma and only wakes up five years later with a veangeance to kill the five who betrayed her; Bill amongst them.
The problem with this movie is it's more of a kid ...- Read poppinfresh262's review (280 words)

Kill Bill, Volume 1 is another memorable movie by "a God amoung Directors" Quentin Tarantino. Again it's jumps from the future then goes back shows you why you seen what you seen at the start. A lot of films that are 18's I don't agree that they should be 18's but this one I do. Filled with Violence, Swearing and some just plain over the top bloody moments but still worth a watch. It has some really gripping and memorable characters like O-Ren Ishii the half Japanese, half chinese American who i ...- Read freakyfriend's review (121 words)

Kill Bill Volume 1 was a good film that could have been better with a bit more character development of both the heroine and Bill.- Read pnadin's review (48 words and 1 comment)
