      'The Longest Day' is one of the greats, and not just for it's cast list populated with a whole host of A-list actors. What you get is some sense of the confusion, terror and stress of being in a war zone, although it's interesting to see how this stacks up to modern equivalent's that go for more gritty realism and less stylised action. And is it just me, or is John Wayne actually not THAT good an actor?
