Good Points: Easy to use, compact, stylish.

    Bad Points: None.

General comments: I bought this Fuji Finepix 1400 digital camera after reading the reviews. I paid £214.00 altogether, which includes AC5V adaptor, charger and Nimhs, (4mb and 8mb card) came with it from Internet Cameras Direct.

I have used it constantly. I took photo after photo including flash and the batteries never expired. I have charged once since purchase which was April 2002. The quality is excellent, the choice of file size useful, the features macro framing guide, self timer just brilliant. Set up was a doddle for my PC. Came with Photo Deluxe, but decided to stick to Ulead Photo Express. I purchased a soft case from local retailer for £6.

It's great, does what it says.

The Fuji Finepix 1400 is an excellent digital camera. We're chuffed with the results. Easy to use. Not the smallest camera but I'm pleased with it for the money. I paid £135 with a 16Mb card.

Just bought a Fuji Finepix 1400 digital camera & a 128Mb memory card from Makro for less that £200 (inc VAT) ~ Superb buy for general snapping & web use.

This digital camera is extremely easy to use and very light. I am definitely pleased with the purchase I have made. Now the negative - the camera does not take that wide of a shot. Also the drag time before pics is about 2-3 seconds which is average for a camera of this quality but still annoying.

overall i found this camera very easy to use, and im very pleased that i purchased it after months of buying various magazines and spent hours of internet browsing befor opting for this camera, I would highly recommend this camera to anyone, A few optional extras to bare in mind would be the purchase of a 32Mb smart card, a decent leather case, a AC-5v Power adapter and a flashpath floppy adapter for easier and quicker downloads, which in turn saves on the extra cost of purchasing loads of AA ba ...

I have recently purchased this camera, on the strength of the reviews from this site.
I find it an excellent camera for the cost, I have used a number of digital cameras for work and find this one much the easier to use.
The only suggestions I would make would be to purchase the following, case, recharchable batteries (does tend to eat normal ones and a 32 Mb card.
I would highly recommend anybody thinking of purchasing a camera on the net to go through ICD,as there level of service is excell ...

from studying digital camera mags & on a budget of about £250 we thought this was as good as we could get[inc 32mB card & essential rechargeable batteries/charger]. dead easy to use after reading instructions. excellent service from internetcamerasdirect, prompt delivery & dealt with faulty battery quickly. came home with 90 holiday pics & downloaded in moments, a very satisfying experience.

Well, what can I say, the reviews below this one prompted me to buy this camera and I am astounded by the value for money. I have always wanted a digital camera so it seemed a good time to buy.
Bought the deal with additional 32mb card and batteries. Shame there was no case but everything else is fantastic. ICD were very easy to deal with and promptly delivered what I had asked for.
    Excellent

This digital camera is a bargain especially when you buy some of the special offers... I bought the 32mb card and the rechargeable batteries and it still worked out cheaper than the camera is selling (with out the extras) in some shops. Before this I had a more expensive camera with 2.1 megapixel but no optical zoom. The Fuji 1400 Zoom is 100x better.

Overall great camera giving great shots, true colours and easy to use. The reviews of the Fuji lens being so good are definitely true.

My two previous digital cameras were cheaper "entry-level" cameras : a mustek MDC800 and a Relysis Dimera - not great comparison as they were cheaper, but this camera is SO much better for just a little more money. Other cams I had to "touch-up"/alter on the pc for almost every shot - this one I haven't had to at all! Even indoor & fluorescent lighting shots ! It's great to have a cam which you can just shoot and download then print off ! It doesn't have the gimmicks such as Video-out or video c ...

The Finepix 1400 is an excellent camera for beginners. It's cheap enough to use it as a test camera for those just starting out in digital photography who need to determine what advanced features they require. Or it's great for the fun/home user as an everyday camera.
In comparison to the Sony cameras i also use, i prefer it. It's smaller, lighter and looks like a normal camera, so potential thieves ignore it. I also bought a 32MB card, which at low resolution just goes on and on.

This is my second digicam, the first was a Jenoptik JD12 - OK for occasional use but no comparison to the Fuji!
The camera has a lovely solid feel and is just small enough to fit in a coat pocket without too much bulk.
The LCD screen is crisp and clear indoors but not so good outside in bright light.
The playback options are great - thumbnail views, zoom in/out and scroll, everything you need to help you decide to keep the shot or delete and start again.
Picture quality is very good, 1.3 meg ...
