Patriot Games although not the first published, was the first chronologically of Tom Clancy's series of Jack Ryan novels. The story begins with Ryan and his wife and daughter in London on a working vacation(-here Ryan was only a professor on navy-). Ryan happens upon an ULA terrorist attempt on the car driving the Prince/Princes of Wales. He thwarts the attempt, suffering grave injury, and recovers to testify in the trial of one of the terrorists, who escapes while being transported to prison… Read Full Review

You think this book is perfect!!??
This is one of the last books worth reading by Tom Clancy.

Most of the stuff he has churned out at a rapid rate since this is trash.

I stick with the good stuff - Cardinal of the kremlin, clear and present danger, Hunt for Red october, and of course, red storm rising.

If you want to read a really good Clancy book try
either "Without Remorse" or "Rainbow 6". In my
opinion those are Clancy's two best novels.
