Good Points: For me I will just describe this books as one of Tom Clancy's 10 best novel he has had ever written and published.
Bad Points: No bad points for comments.
General comments: Patriot Games although not the first published, was the first chronologically of Tom Clancy's series of Jack Ryan novels. The story begins with Ryan and his wife and daughter in London on a working vacation(-here Ryan was only a professor on navy-). Ryan happens upon an ULA terrorist attempt on the car driving the Prince/Princes of Wales. He thwarts the attempt, suffering grave injury, and recovers to testify in the trial of one of the terrorists, who escapes while being transported to prison. Then here it began's the lives of Ryan's family in danger becuase the escape-terourist have had a plan for revenge on Ryan and Ryan's family, ending with a full scale assault on Ryan's home by terrorists while Ryan is entertaining the Prince Of Wales and his wife! All of Ryan's family are targeted by the terrorists and injured to varying degrees prior to the finale.
Patriot Games was a major film from Paramount starring Harrison Ford.
"High adventure throughout with righteous violence and cold anger as well as heroism prevailing" - this is a highly considered review. In addition to this, Clancy's work is a remarkable. He really put the readers on suspense through the real story of international terrorism. He is also remarkable in politics as you've been notice on his two best novel: a. Debt of Honor ; and b. Executive Order, Tom play the real spook character in two novel. He's a long-time action-thriller and suspense novelist. And one thing that caught my attention on his writing is that all the books I've read have had great detailed related to characters and scenes. Clancy uses vivid imagery when describing places and objects.
Patriot Games is a book that can be enjoyed by anybody that likes to read action-packed, suspenseful stories and politics. It's an up-to-date book... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for everyone!

Tom Clancey's Patriot Games is far superior to that of the film. i have read all tom's jack ryan books but this one was the most intense. the book dived into jacks character and gave you more of a look at jack than the others. (possible spoiler ahead)
why didn't he kill him at the end though- Read andrewgrahamfife's review (69 words)

Tom Clancy's Patriot Games is a non stop action thriller. When Jack Ryan, a history teacher at the Naval Acadamy in Annapolis and part time CIA analyst, foils a royal abduction attempt by an Irish terrorist group, the Ulster Liberation Army, he makes some very dangerous enemies. The suspence caused by the constant terrorist threat climaxes perfectly in the final action sequence in which Jack Ryan, with the held of a Navy pilot and the prince of Wales, escapes from the sure clutches of the ULA an ...- Read bill's review (101 words and 2 comments)
