Good Points: This album is great fun. Vanilla had an enormous impact in this country, and I found his lyrics and beats very entertaining. A good value, nostalgic purchase. Add this to your collection today!
Bad Points: Vanilla Ice held a massive influence over my brother Lee. He would mimic acts like Ice, and he attempted to rap on street corners with his friends. His overall behaviour and attitude deteriorated following this blossoming passion for hip/hop. To be fair, his lyrics weren't too bad; it was just his rapping technique that was of a poor standard. He did however do a cracking Heavy D & the Boyz.
General comments: The To The Extreme Vanilla Ice album should be in every hip/hop fans collection. Ice was a ground breaking act of the early nineties, who is now the victim of certain levels of ridicule. I believe this criticism is a little unfair, as many commercial rap acts are enjoying successful careers today. This album has some fantastic beats and solid lyrics. You really should have a copy.
