Bad Points: none as yet
General comments: The Eltax Monitor III sound quality is good - bass notes are clear, yet not too boomy. The top-end is detailed and there is a comfortable mid-range. Well put-together too! Cheap for 70notes!

Would buy with confidence, invest in good stands or heavy shelf. Good cables make these a truly outstanding speaker right across the spectrum. These are less than 30cm high so they are no bass-heads but still perform strongly in all areas.

These speakers sound great. I have used a 30 Watt amp and a 200 Watt amp and they sound great either way. They are so cheap as well!

I've owned a set of Eltax Monitor III speakers for many years now (beach) and I've always been happy with them.
If you want some advice on their placement then I recommend buying a set of floor mounted speaker stands as they are absolutely essential for these speakers! I originally put them on the floor, but I then bought a pair of cheap Acoustic speakers from Argos (£30) and filled them with sand. Doing this improved the sound quality by a massive 300%! In the last year I have upgrade ...

Having read the reviews in here I made my journey over to Richer Sounds and purchased my new speakers. What a bargin - what a great buy. I was using Mission 73s and Kef C15 speakers through my Sony amp but I wasn't impressed by the bass response so I thought I'd check these out - I'm so glad I did. The bass response whilst still not holding up against a subbed up system is way way better than with the Missions and Kefs and the treble is refined and crisp, I have been checking them out on all ...

I needed to buy a pair of budget speakers which offer good value for money, and at the same time give excellent reproduction. Having invested in a pair of Eltax 3 speakers, I would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone who cannot afford a king's ransom for excellent sound reproduction. I'm a classical music devotee and good sound quality is essential, and these speakers provide this and more.!
Having read the other reviews on this site regarding trying to find adequate speaker stands which ...

With all the talk about the difficulty in getting stands for the Eltax Monitor III Stereo Speakers I have to be honest and say that when I bought these, I thought they would be fine on the floor (don't laugh). They had spikes on the bottom so I thought this would help isolate the vibrations enough to compensate for the low profile.
Boy was I wrong.
Unfeasibly boomy bass, harsh treble and no midrange to speak of. After experimenting with speaker cables, fiddling with tone controls and ...

I just bought a pair of Eltax Monitor III speakers, and they sound superb, great all-round performer. The soundstaging is good, presence is clear, bass hits low, though not as low as the subs go all the way to 20hz, but it's not designed to compete with the subs anyway. For its vocal performance it's top notch, what can I say, a quality speaker at its price, for the price of 70 quid bought from Richer Sounds, these speakers are a value buy!!! I first wanted to go for pair of quads or 780 missio ...

as i said these Eltax Monitor III speakers sound very good for the price(£60 from richer) and are actually quite flexible, i had the speakers on stands in my bedroom which is to be fair, quite small, about three meteres by three. in my bedroom the bass is ever present, but never over-powering, in fact if you're into vinyl, these speakers are spot on....however, it's not just small rooms, my brother in law swapped me his Mordaunt Short ms 25i's, which were far too bass heavy for my bedroom( ...

I got Eltax Monitor III speakers to complement my Cambridge Audion C500 pre-Amp and P500 power-Amp. To be honest the sound is simply stunning. The speakers are cheap, good looking and sound quality is good for the price. However, if you really a bass hardcore, i suppose this speaker can't satify you (so far i still haven't heard any bookshelf speakers can give heavy bass). Then you might want to get a subwoofer to boost the bass.

The Eltax Monitor III have a great design, good looking (Ive got the beach effect), good build quality.
I felt if they coped with Jazz best, there was a lot of space and presence.
Classical music was good too, I needed to tone down the bass a little.
Pop music, excellent but more complex electronica music (Orbital) got a bit muddy in the lower-mid.
I would have liked to test it on better equipment.
The price-performance ratio is brilliant. Looks good. Sounds good. Speaker positioning may ...

Hello All,
I just got these Eltax Monitor III speakers to complement my Kenwood KAF3030R(s) Amp and to be honest the sound is simply stunning, these are very good looking and have a deep level of bass and a large bass duct under the speakers
