    Good Points: None that I can think of

    Bad Points: If you ring their main number you get to speak to someone without any technical knowledge. They also won't put you through or give you the telephone number for their service centres.

    General comments: Absolutely lousy customer service. Call centre doesn't want to know. Had 4 different "engineers" now in space of 6 weeks from Preston service centre to diagnose same ongoing problem with fridge/freezer and not one of them seems to know what they are doing. New parts have been ordered and fitted and the thing still doesn't work properly. Seems you pay through the nose for the warranty and it's not worth the paper it's printed on. Would not recommend Comet at all - suggest prospective purchasers try to get item they want from another retailer.

    I bought a tv from Comet a couple of weeks ago, and left it in its packaging for a couple of days, whilst I was selling my previous tv. After I'd set up the new tv, all seemed fine, until I started to get an intermitant flickering picture with HDMI sources.     Comet is selling stuff they do not have in stock and they say otherwise. When they realized they probably can't restock for the price, they didn;t do anything - delivery day passed with me waiting for my mouse. After me sending them an email, tehy called and said that the product is discontinued by producer.

    Bought a 42inch LG TV in Comet before Christmas 2008, early this year it started hissing, eventually after making sure it was Tv and not sky box, dvd etc, phoned customer services. Engineer called, tried every bit of softwear then decided it needed a new screen! Told us the part would be ordered then he would call back.     It's the third time we have used Comet to buy our kitchen appliances. You can always rely on them to have the best price and we can choose the delivery day online. We always have gone for the free standart delivery (good if you're not in a hurry to get your items) and they have been there in the allocated day with no problem.     I bought a washer dryer from comet, thank goodness I bought insurance. My machine goes wrong about every 4 weeks, I normally have to wait about 2 weeks for an engineer (very fustrating when you have a family). When he arrives he has to order the parts, which normally takes about another 10 days (so when the machine goes wrong every 4-6 weeks, it takes a month before it works again!!!!     Comet have disgraceful Customer after Sales Service!!!!!!!!! Having bought a Bosch dishwasher from Comet Online for our office premises when we came to unpack it the whole top of the appliance came off in our hands which is clearly faulty it is not supposed to do this.     i find comet the best place to buy any electrical goods, i buy all my stuff from there. i see reviews on here stating that it is an outrage that a comet engineer has to look at the product before a refund exchange can be processed which is ridiculous as just because you say its broken or someone else says that whos to say you are not lying or it is just something like user error which is simply resolved. if you sold something to someone and they said it was broken, you would like to check it bef ...

    Bought Hotpoint washing machine February 2008 from Comet. Purchased 5 year warranty . Feature of machine was that it displayed a code for any fault if it broke down.Faulty in April 2009.     I Purchased a Hotpoint washing machine from a new comet store which had a grand opening sale. after 3 months the washer went faulty and to cut a long story short, the engineers could not fix it and so it was written off.     Havng found a TV i liked, i visited comet and explained that i could get the same tv for £500 less at a shop less than 10 miles from the comet store. i was told that the 'price guarantee' was no such thing. the guarantee was in fact at the discretion of the store. not much of a guarantee....more like false advertising. will contact office of fair trading and ask what they make of this 'guarantee' which happens to be untrue. comet 'customer services' have no idea how it works eith ...

    I bought a washing machine for my father - in December the machine broke down, after 2 weeks Comet sent someone out to repair the machine, it was fitted with a new motor and still did not work, they then needed to fit a new mother board, the machine went for about another two weeks then broke down again.     It all started with a Philips LCD TV which I was sold one of those Comet warranties which was supposed to be great and turned out to be rubbish! The TV went away for repair after a little boy of mine knocked it over and cracked the screen.     Our 6 month old washing machine broke down (we have 4 little boys, including a baby who, at the time had a vomitting and diaorreah bug!) - helpline called and engineer called round a week later to announce that a rod had snapped and the counterweight was loose and basically smashing the machine to bits - not our fault but a big job.     I was looking for an upscaling dvd player, but the one I wanted, a Toshiba XDE-500 was over £100, so couldn't believe my luck when it dropped to £59.99 on comets site, so I reserved one at their Gravesend (Kent) store, and went to collect it straight away.     Allowed order to be placed that was 'not in stock'. Failed to contact me as per own guidelines within 24 hours. Cancelled order automatically and asked me to contact them 7 days later. First experience with comet online and will not be repeating it again. Luckily managed to find the same product cheaper elsewhere so not a complete loss.

    Comet delivered a Hoover dishwasher to a friend of mine last week, they quickly brought it into the kitchen (one delivery man each side of it) and slid it straight into the existing opening, told his wife (in her late 70's) to sign for it, she did this, I went round to cut the plug off it and feed the mains cable through the worktop and fit a new plug, I slid the washer out and noticed one side was completely caved in, I phoned Comet to complain, after an hour of holding and apparently being cut ...

    Went to Comet to buy a new washer/dryer. Had found the one that we wanted on the internet for £395 with a different company. Went to comet to see one in the flesh, they wanted £500. Mentioned that I could get it for over £100 less from a different company, they said that they could only price match their own internet site, not others.     I paid £800.00 pounds for a brand new Samsung series 6 TV, just after the 28 days it broke, I phoned the head office and was told an engineer would be out because only their engineer could say that the TV was faulty, however if the TV was beyond repair I would be given a letter saying so and I could have a replacement.     very very good customer service could not do more for me, unit had to go away for repair explained every step came back very well wrapped and all fixed, i think some people just don't understand that different shops have different ways of doing things but the way i was spoken to and looked after was great
