Excellent shotgun. I bought mine in near new condition from an older gentleman who was starting to slow down on his hunting and shooting. It has a nice smooth and reliable action, slightly more solid and quieter than an 870 (and an 870 is an excellent gun). I have shot skeet and trap, hunted deer, turkey, waterfowl, pheasants, grouse, woodcock, and rabbit without a single problem. It is a slightly heavy gun when compared to some of the newer lightweights, but this has benefits as well as drawbacks. About the only thing I don't like about it is the top tang safety. This is great on the range, but more than once it has inadvertantly been switched off by contact with brush and trees when hunting in thick areas. I check it often. All in all it is one of the best guns I have owned, and I would not hesitate to recommend a Browning 12ga BPS to anyone looking for a great all-around shotgun. As a matter of fact, I have been contemplating purchasing another one in 20 gauge.

The BPS is a clearly superior design to the Remington 870. There are fewer moving parts -- the loader bars double as the ejection bars, so it is impossible (at least, I've never done it) to short-cycle the gun and jam a shell under the ramp, as is common in 870s and their clones. The enclosed action eliminates rain and snow intrusion into the action and cuts down on dirt. I use my marsh-camo, synthetic-stock 3.5 inch 12 gauge as my goose gun and have abused it in brackish water for four years, ...

Currently own 3 BPS shotguns. A 3" Stalker, a 3" Hunter, and a 3.5" dipped in Mossy Oak camo. The Hunter is the smoothest cycling of the bunch., and the wood looks pretty. The camo model came with a synthetic butt stock that had some cast-off designed into it. Not very nice for lefties like me. Other 2 models are neutral. Sent it away to a Browning warranty gunsmith. He sent it back unannounced with a note saying all camo stocks have this cast off to them. Called Browning in the states, they sai ...

I hunt 90% in salt marsh country and love my BPS (had it 20 yrs. and now have 3 in 12G.), I have several doubles but this gun handles more naturally for me . I originally bought it because I liked the heft of it (it's a bit heavier than an 870, which I like as I think it gives a more consistent swing). I've used the first one I got so much that there is no bluing on it (due to using steel wool to get the salt rust off) and the rib is saddle backed in several spots but it's still a killer.Due to ...

The BPS is one of the best pump shotguns available. Great for the left-handed shooter or anyone who likes collecting his empties after firing. A great gun at a much lower price than a Browning over/under. Highly recommended.

A top of the range pump gun, mine was a steal at £170. I had a Mossberg 500 before the bps, but the build quality and bottom ejection is far superior, and it's a Browning.

Over all, I consider the Browning BPS to be the best deal for your hard earned money If you want a quality gun that will pattern way better than most guns 3 times the price, and will not let you down in the field no matter what your quarry may be, from doves, pheasants, turkey, and big game such as deer or wild boar, from bird shot to the heaviest magnum buckshots, I promise you that you will not be disappointed. Since I have owned my BPS, I have encountered numerous owners as well who are also ...

The Browning 12ga BPS and the Remington 870 express are the two smoothest guns I have ever shot. I like the BPS because of the bottom ejection, keeps the empties at your feet rather than somewhere in the bushes near by. The top tang safety is instinctive to use and easy to check with just a touch of your hand. The wood is really gorgeous. Light enough to walk around in the field with all day but heavy enough that 3 inch mags don't tear your shoulder off.

The Browning 12ga BPS Sporting Shotuns action is almost silky in nature and delivers quick, crisp follow-up shots (as long as the shooter's arms are long enough to comfortably reach the forearm). 3-inch chamber can handle any loads without jamming or sticking and fires plenty of power to fold up any game. I've shot everything from pheasants to geese with a lot of success in between. The BPS I shoot actually dropped a big honker from 70+ yards with steel #3's last year. Call it "The Golden BB", b ...

I bought the Browning BPS 12ga primarily for its bottom load/eject feature since I'm a lefty.Out of the box the gun patterned almost perfectly with all three chokes at thirty yards with 1.125 oz shot. Pattern was centered left/right and approx 3 inches high of target.
Shooting doubles at trap this is a very fast and accurate gun. In duck-blinds shooting sporting clays the gun is comfortable and predictable. Browning also included a trigger lock for free. I would rate this Japanese-made shotgun ...
