Good Points: Very reliable, fantastic touring/motorway car, comfortable, easy and uncomplicated to repair, very good fuel economy.

    Bad Points: NONE

General comments: I bought a Peugeot 205 diesel as a work car and also as a cheap alternative to hiring a car for touring Europe, unusual choice you may think but an initial outlay of £400 and £200 spent on parts, lots of tlc, has got me a superb car, I have covered around 20000 miles, the car has took me to France, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, and Portugal, brilliant fun preparing and driving this classic car.

I have owned my Peugeot 205 1.8 diesel for about 3 years now and it has not let me down once. I first had the car bought for me to learn to drive in three years ago and have drove it ever since. It is an "N" Reg so it is one of the newer versions of the 205 so it is not a rust bucket like most of the ones you see. This car is extremely fast for a standard diesel and will sit comfortably on a motorway at 100mph even though they say the top speed is only around 96mph. The car also has a fairly goo ...

I've owned my J reg 1.8 Peugeot 205 Diesel Style for 3.5 years and it now has over 160,000 on the clock. The first engine lasted until 125,000 despite pulling big trailers with the old owner and being passed to me with almost no oil in the sump. The second engine cost £500 including work and is reconditioned so runs a hell of a lot better than the old knackered one. 0-60 in about 10.5 seconds (on the flat) and can manage over 60mpg (good considering I'm a student with no income). Great fun ...

I bought a Peugeot 205 GRD two years ago. It is a second hand car but it's given me nothing but full satisfaction. In almost two years, hardly has anything ever gone wrong with it. I really wish all cars were as good as the Peugeot 205 GRD.

Before i did a engine conversion I used to have a Peugeot 205 GRD diesel, for a diesel they are very nippy and extremely cheap to run and insure.
I have now changed the engine in it and added a 1.9 gti engine fitted with a nitros oxcide system and a K&N air filter, It gives it roughly 180 - 190 bhp. 0 - 60mph in about 5 seconds.
Doing this kind of modification is not cheap and is not insurance friendly, im 22 years old and i spend £3800 a year on insurance and over £100 a week on ...
