The QB88 might be said to sit at the top of the cheap-Chinese airgun heap. Certain details mark it as the unmistakable close cousin of the almost-bottom-feeder guns such as the B3, the B4-1, and the old KL3B Fast Deer - such as the poor finish on the metalwork, rough edges around the loading port, and the need for some owner clean-up. But it does have some nicer touches that sets it above the low-cost leaders, which is appropriate since the gun generally occupies a slightly higher price niche.

It took a little work but this has turned out to be a fine gun of good quality with marginal quality control. The finish on the stock is excellent, the bluing on the metal is good and there is almost no plastic. The trigger guard is some sort of quality nylon. This gun can shoot with 3" at 25 yards with the inexpensive 4x20 scope I installed. Better than I expected @ this low price- Read danflex's review (89 words and 2 comments)

The Shanghai QB88 looks like a TF41 until you pick it up and feel its improved handling due to a better Monte Carlo stock and smoother trigger. This light weight rifle can make hits on 4" targets out to 50 yards with iron sights. It's probably more accurate inside 40 yards which is far more consistent then the less accurate TF41. The last time I check the QB88 cost $88 and the TF41 was on sale for $39.99. Does the QB88 merits $40 more dollars it depends where you want to start. Do you want to wo ...- Read Sifu456's review (168 words)

This Shanghai QB88 was my first springer airgun. I bought a Crosman 66 powermaster last December (85% plastic parts). The powermaster cost me $38 at Wal-Mart, about 2.5lbs, shoots 650fps, very accurate to about 30 feet. I got tired of pumping the darn Crosman 8-10 times per shot. So I went shopping for an adult airgun. The TF-88 or tech force 88 or QB 88 seems like a good start (0.177). They are advertising it as an 850fps gun. DO NOT BELIEVE the Velocity advertised...later I read that someone ...- Read jim p's review (524 words and 1 comment)

From the above description you can see that the Qb-88 makes choices in the "compromises that are air rifles" towards accuracy. It is by modern air rifle standards a moderate powered air rifle.
