Bonnie Prince Billy, I See a Darkness - This is, without a doubt, my favourite Will Oldham creation. It's a dark, brooding affair, full of Oldham's unusual lyrical twists ("Death to everyone/is gonna come/it makes hosing/much more fun" - who knows what he means!), biting invectives, and beautiful drawling guitars.
If you're not familiar with Will Oldham, it is one of his many guises, including Palace Music, Palace Brothers, Will Oldham, Bonnie Prince Billy, etc, you can expect an exception album of Americana-style singer-songwriter excellence which bears similarities to the other masters of his genre including Smog, Lambchop and Songs: Ohia.
In summary, Bonnie Prince Billy has a striking voice, an unusual lyrical style and is well-worth exploring.
